Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SerbiaIt is absolutely unacceptable to me that any accommodation unit charges extra for the use of WI FI internet. We didn't even ask how much it costs, 1 cent is a lot. Charging for internet in accommodation in the 21st century is like charging for the insertion of mirrors or pillows (which I believe that at least someone in the world does). This is definitely the biggest minus of the hotel. Furthermore, the door to the room creaks so much that I believe we woke up the whole floor when we left or entered the room. The staff is nice, however the people working at the reception should know how to give you at least some information about the city. In this hotel, they employed a man who has lived in Copenhagen for only a month.
The beds are really very comfortable, the room is bright and there is no outside noise. It's certainly not among the cleanest I've been in, but it's satisfyingly clean.

EstoniaThe windows open hard with sqweak; in one room shower was weak and quite worn out, spray holes half blocked, could use some renovation. WC and shower were in separate rooms, I prefer at least one 2in1. The table in room not stable, needs screws. Pillows were small, if you need a little higher support, use your coat. :)
Quiet, cozy, number was clean. For the price more or less ok.

BulgariaThere was no one before checkin time so we couldn’t leave our luggage before 3pm and had to carry it while sightseeing. We called the phone left at the door but they just told us that there’s nothing to do about it — those are the working hours. It’s understandable but I think there should be a way to leave your luggage before 3 pm. I think that’s also understandable. It was hard to use the elevator with the stroller because it’s a small one. But that was really a minor problem. I found it more frustrating to have to carry our bags all day around the city.
The doors lock with cards, it look safe. It was worm in the room. The location is good.

GermanyThe edge of the mattress was very dirty, probably caused by the legs of many people before getting out of that bed. Please replace that mattress protectors! The room was too small and too simple for almost 100€ per night (August 2023)

New ZealandIt's much further to the city center than I thought (25 minutes walk to the central station). It's mostly a residential neighborhood. The corridor is air-tight. Whenever someone on the same floor opens his or her room door, your room door will be affected, creating noise.
Two grocery stores in the neighborhood. Extremely quiet.

United KingdomVery tight rooms. Probably should be called a hostel to be fair. Owner charges customers to use WiFi which could be free or added to overall price. Manager suggested I take a free coffee but when I accepted the offer the following day he asked for 20 kroner for the smallest cup I've ever seen! The showers could do with servicing and deep cleaning. They have certificates for economic efficiency which is fair , though imo having Part Time Receptionists is not welcoming enough for the customer, as the customer is doing the receptionists job. The hallways need decorating and cleaning. The step down to reception from hall needs levelling off into a slope to prevent trips. Breakfasts are extremely basic and not worth the fee. No vegan or gluten free option is way behind the times. Providing an option of oat milk would not be difficult or expensive. It is clear the owners are focused on their profit over the customers comfort. The charge for the Internet and the state of the breakfasts would mean I'd book elsewhere in the same area next time. Thanks
Great location- quiet.

United StatesThe main complaint is that the apt was a bit worn. Clean but needs a total refurbishment. An update of the furniture would have made a lot of difference.

After reading the comments and reviews I expected a complete disaster. But it wasn't that bad. We stayed one full night, and it was ok. The shared shower was a disaster, I couldn't make myself use it. The bed is ok. It's great for one night, max 2 nights. And the location is perfect.
