Rude staff that clearly didn’t want us as guests, probably because our small dogs wasn’t pre-announce when booking through booking dot com. He dragged the check-in in the hope of us giving up, and continued to lie about what cards they accepted for payment. After insisting, we finally checked in and payed with the card that they didn’t accept. Walking through the restaurant when going to and from your room. I do accept that we we’re not the easiest guests, but when you pay ~2,000DKK for 10 sqm in an old building, with old furniture, without A/C, on the ground floor - service is probably (or should be) the main thing you’re paying for. With that in mind this was one of our worst hotel experiences this year and we’ve had 90 days in hotels the last 12 months.

The decor of the room was old fashioned and dated - needs a refurb. And there was no air con, which was not great on a roasting hot day in May!

The staff were amazing and the location was perfect, with nearby shops and restaurants.

Not much to do in the area exvept use the hotel as a base. The quality of the matresses in the std rooms is poor. I have been to stay 2x for work and both times the matresses where incredibly soft and/or I could feel springs. The "executive" rooms have better quality matresses. The ventilation on the ground floor rooms does not appear to work well.

Reasonable location. 10min walk to Gentofte station. A few nice restaurants in the area. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Hotel was fine, but on check in there was an issue with our room type (which was the fault of booking.com) and the handling by the check in staff was totally unsatisfactory. We were squashed into a regular room instead of the family room we had paid for. It was sorted next day but we were not offered a discount or any other compensation for the error. We will be taking this up separately in a complaint to booking.com

Very hot in the room. The room was way too small for three/four persons in it. We booked a three beds room, giving that we travelled with a two respectivaly eight years old children. The room was not worthy the money we payed.

It's a great location if you're on a road trip and don't want to drive in Copenhagen. It's a 10-15 min trip by train to Copenhagen. The breakfast buffé was fresh.

We found the staff on reception rather indifferent; Not much in the welcoming front. The breakfast was rather disappointing, and staff were clearing things away before the stated closing time. Our room was extremely hot, being south facing, and even with the only window open tended to remain too warm and stuffy.

This is a very good location for anyone arriving by car, being fairly close to the motorway system. Gentofte S-Tog station is a conveniently short walk from the hotel for access to central Copenhagen. Reasonable value for money bearing in mind it's location.

Travellers should note that the rooms and the bathrooms are small and have no wardrobes a little space for storing luggage or clothes, if you stay for many days. The breakfast used to be plentiful and served in a cozy dining room with a nice 60-70ies atmosphere. Today is restaurant has been renovated into a not so nice modern style and the food has been reduced to cold choices. These are however good. There was waiting time for a table for breakfast, and also for the buffet to be re-filled with food, plates and cutlery, and things were arranged in a very inconvenient way. For travellers who need to be ready for at specific time, this is a nuisance, and my husband for this reason decided to cancel a reservation (business purpose) for later this summer.

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 12 years. It is located in the centre of the old suburb of Gentofte, rather far from the Copenhagen city centre and its sights, but there is an "S-train" station within a 5 minutes' walk. The location was perfect for our purpose. The parking facilities are good. The staff (many of the faces were long-time familiar to us) were as always very friendly and helpful. The hotel is good value for the price.

I have stayed there before because the place is very close to my work. Never liked staying there but finding a hotel last moment north of Copenhagen is not easy. Always met of arrogant staff upon arrival. This time very noisy with noise people at rooms and the floor hallway, with several people using the halls as playground and ensample points. TV's turned on late at the evening. Beds made of two boxsets rolling from each other. Needed to end my staying at midnight because of the noisy guests and I needed my sleep. If you are travel and need your sleep, I strongly suggest you find another hotel.

Heavy downpour during night caused water to enter open window and soak carpet. Breakfast accommodation at weekend was very crowded.

All reception staff and breakfast staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Gentofte shopping street immediately to hand had some good shops and restaurants. Gentofte lake within a few hundred yards has swans, geese, mallards, and other water fowl - good for sitting out or walking, running, cycling.

The twin beds were too small, too narrow, as if for children; the room was too warm because there was no air conditioning so sleeping was problematic every night otherwise, the room itself was quite nice. They gave us two fans however and that helped quite a bit.

The personnel went out of their way to be accommodating - the desk staff, restaurant staff & cleaning staff -- really warm, friendly, helpful, efficient, all cared about our stay. We had booked a family room, which in this case is a common room in which a folding bed, reminiscent of a torture instrument, is placed. Taking money for this is beyond me Breakfast, that was average, was served in a crowded room by a staff that was utterly indifferent. Only later they opened another section of the restaurant.

Extremely helpful and smiling receptionist. Whether it was her who fulfilled my special wish is not known; but on the bedside table was placed a picture of Kirsten Hüttemeier as requested. And then there are not more positive to add about Gentofte Hotel!

Breakfast was great. Staff very helpful in telling us local places and a great Thai restaurant down the road. Didn't want to stay in town and close to the lake so we were able to go for a good run.

Spots and holes in carpets, the hotel needs a refurb. Bed was merely two singles pushed together.. Not as advertized.

    Good location for Gentofte mainstreet.

Triple room is in fact a small double room where some place was squeezed to insert an extendable bed. Even a double room is very small. All beds are narrow and uncomfortable because the mattresses which are slipping out.

Tranquil place, personnel is nice, clean, wifi acceptable, 10 minutes from train station that comes every 10 minutes.

No coffee making facility in room. Missed breakfast (expensive £11) first morning due to oversleeping - breakfast finished 9.30 (I was still on English time so it felt like 8.30). Must remember in future breakfast is only for 'earlybirds'

Great to be able to get an evening meal at hotel. Really nice room (417). Nice and clean everywhere. Friendly waitress. Close to shops and station.

The hotel has quite old furnitures, the toilet was smelly when I entered and the pressure of the shower was very low. The bed was small and the walls very thin (I was waken up by a vibrating alarm of a neighbour at 6am). The price is high considering that there was no breakfast included.

Not too far from the station and located in a quite area.

Although the booking page said it was possible to pay in cash and I ticked this option, on site I was informed that my credit card was already charged. Thus, I was exposed to a quadruple rip-off: by my bank (double re-currencing of cc payment at shameless rates) and by exchange office (two provisions for buying and later for selling unnecessary DKK). So watch closely your money there!
