Run down. No bar/lounge. No tea/coffee in room. No telephone in room. Restaurant only offered a set 3-5 course menu, no choice, only a choice of how many courses you had. So called swimming pool was filthy and the so called tennis court was overgrown with grass of around 18-24 inches tall.

    Staff were very helpful.

This place is not 4 star and should not be advertised as such. Yes it's a beautiful old castle and has oodles of charm... but this doesn't mean that dirty bathrooms, scuffed paint on the doorways, tatty carpets and furniture made of cheap mdf covered with tablecloths and cheap wardrobes are excusable and less so if guests are charged "4 star" prices! Add to this no wifi connection, a disgusting concrete cold water swimming pool with a tarpaulin tent like extension.., and myself and my husband could not get away from the place soon enough. The best thing we can say is that when we said we wanted to check out after only one night (we were supposed to stay for four)... the hotel receptionist didn't argue with us or try to defend the place. It is a wonderful old castle but at best 2-3 star. The price should be adjusted accordingly. They should demolish the pool and invest in some paint, carpets, and decent wooden furniture.

Breakfast not as expected (not ready at promised time, and a bit poor). Shower a little filthy.

A very special hotel! A true old castle. Very comfortable beds!

Food was good. But it consists of a five course meal with one item for each course. You could select one or more courses, but the pricing was confusing.

Staff were very nice and upgraded our three rooms to the suites which were very nice. Beautiful location but far from attractions. Went there because my great grandparents worked there when it was a Castle/manor house.

Not very friendly staff. Swimming pool are not at all what it looks like in the pictures. See to that you are not put in the flats in the side building, they are way below the standard in the main building (we were placed there but managed to change).

Very good food, nice rooms in the castle, very relaxing surroundings.

The castle is amazing and has a very long history.

there were a lot of small disappointing points: - indoor swimming pool can be used only during the summer - despite room description, there was no minibar in the bridal suite - 5 course dinner not possible for no-meat eaters (got a bigger starter instead). The fourth course, fried mozzarella, really was not good - the wine tasting was only in Danish, a real pity because the wines were nice and there was a tour of the castle as well. They could have at least a paper with most important points in English

The castle is amazing and has a very long history. The rebuild to a hotel has been done with a style. Good breakfast!
