Maybe the lack of privacy in the “small cottage” we were at . The curtains didn’t close enough for my taste.

Close to the shore at the beach…happy hour at the bar looking at the ocean and the staff were super nice.

the furnitures in the room look old and run-down, a lot of tiny ants in the room, and no table in the bedroom to put stuffs, bathroom also lack of countertop to put changing clothes or make-ups.

I did extensive research on hotels, and Casa de Marita is by far one of the best in the town. I will say, I think a big difference is beachfront vs inland rooms. When I looked at the reviews, those who had beachfront LOVED their experience, and those who got inland rooms without a view thought the rooms were moderately overpriced for what you get. My suggestion: get the beachfront view. The cost-benefit is worth it for those rooms.

It's hard not to like Casa de Marita. It's right on the beach on the far side of the small town - so it's quiet on the property but easy to walk to everything. It's one of the closest hotels to the ferry (10-min walk). The staff was extremely attentive. Our room was clean (and spacious). Breakfast in the morning was included, and pretty extensive. We had dinner there two nights - both meals we really enjoyed. They helped connect us with a local tour guide agency, so we felt confident trusting the company to book/pay for tours in advance. Bonus: we paid for the jr suite, but were upgraded to the master suite because the hotel was only half booked.

The grounds here are just so beautiful. The beach was magic every afternoon. Very nice service and food.

location is great, we had a garden room which looked out into the beach with loungers and hammocks outside the room. You can watch iguanas on the beach from outside your room! 😊. Breakfast was lovely with lots of fresh fruit and plenty of choice served in a room with a balcony overlooking the beach. staff were very helpful and helped us organise a trip up the volcano.

The property is advertised as beachfront but my room was actually in a different block on the other side of the road. This was not made clear to me during or after the booking and this information was not available on the Booking.com website

The evaluation and price must be mostly based on the other rooms as previously commented. Our room was pretty basic and not worth the price at all, breakfast was average (eggs not available not due to their fault), some of the staff wasn't so nice. It does have the good points stated, making it acceptable but not more than that. Book one of the other rooms if you are interested in this hotel.

You would think that for over 100$/night you wouldn't have to stand outside the room at the mercy of mosquitos to get lousy wifi.... Room for improvement breakfast wise
