Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBreakfast was very average. Additionally we pre organised a walking tour with the hotel prior to arriving and they had no knowledge of this.
Great hotel in the heart of the old town. Very comfortable rooms and bathrooms.

United StatesThis is super minor - we booked Rm 23 - one of their big, spacious rooms on the top floor (also note there's only stairs - but they have porters) - the room didn't have a real window view which we greatly missed. But we were close to the spiral staircase up to the stunning Mirador Lounge with its huge window. My husband would go up there to read at the end of the day. Everything was quiet - for the most part. This is not hotel's fault but a few adults - think they were organized groups - were quite loud late at night and very early in the morning - like 4am. The sound travels straight up the open courtyard to the rooms. The hotel has signs posting quiet hours, so I wished the staff had enforced it.
Beautifully restored, relaxing historic hotel just a short walk to the the main squares of the old town. After days in sandy beach flats in Galapagos, we felt spoiled here with a huge room, double bathroom sinks, rain shower, robe and slippers, and umbrella etc. Very comfortable. We loved the daily complimentary afternoon/evening tea and snack, and they sometimes also had chocolate tasting demonstrations in the atrium in late afternoon. The staff were helpful calling taxis (sometimes there is a wait, esp on weekends so give enough time) and they have security guards walk you to the car. Note - ubers and cars without tourism licenses may have trouble accessing the historic street so you may have to walk out a bit for dropoff or pickup. But staff are always willing to help with this. I tried to pick a neighborhood that was walkable and this was - the colonial streets are filled with touristy vendors, merchants, little shops, bars, clubs and restaurants - saw lots offering the local tasty canelazos drink and gigantic (gigante) empanadas. It is a bit empty on weeknights but the tourism police have an office down the street so it didn't feel overly dangerous when we walked around a bit at night. Weekends are much more busy. I didn't try the hotel restaurant but it looked cute. There's a well known restaurant right next door - Casa los Geranios - must try the local potato stew soup that's served over a fire and the unique fig cheesecake dessert!

New ZealandThe location presents some difficulty to drivers wishing to access the hotel entrance, but this can be overcome with a little ingenuity.
This hotel is beautiful, wonderfully comfortable, superb in every respect. Of special note is the excellent food served in the hotel restaurant.

United StatesOnce in the enormous doors the place opened up to a beautiful welcoming room with plants and high ceiling where the upper floors could be viewed. In the back was a comfortable sitting area great for gathering with friends and having a cocktails or tea. They even had small sandwiches on hand. We ate at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Both delicious. As it was election on Sunday our street life was very quiet but we were told it has wonderful restaurants and bars. The location is very close to all the sites in this beautiful colonial city. I would stay there again!!

AustraliaWe were told on our first morning that breakfast was not included. At departure, when paying our bill, I noticed that the statement said 'breakfast included' and the staff member confirmed then that we had breakfast. It was a bit disappointing that we've been given the wrong information. Luckily we only stayed 3 nights, but still... we could have avoided the expense of eating breakfast out.
This is a beautiful property at a great location. We had the junior suite which was very spacious. We didn't realise that we were staying right at La Ronda, and how busy the street gets in the evening, until we arrived. We were a bit concerned that it'd be very noisy at night, but we couldn't hear a thing from our room. It was a pleasant surprise. I should note though that our room didn't face the street, so I can't comment on rooms that do. It was also great to have security staff at the door, especially when the street was very busy at night.

United StatesOnly drawback is the shower could be better designed with a screen to keep water from splashing into the the bathroom. And a bathtub would be nice after a whole day of sight seeing in Quito. (Maybe they have rooms with bathtubs, just not my room).
The Hotel is a Spanish Colonial House with a beautiful courtyard, located on Calle de la Ronda - one of the most charing streets in Old Town Quito. It's a 5 min walk to the Santo Domingo Church and easy walk to the Central Plaza and other historic landmarks in Quito. The staff of the hotel are welcoming and friendly, breakfast is buffet with many choices of fruits. The rooms are spacious with traditional decoration, the bed is firm and large (I prefer firm beds). I highly recommend this hotel, and would stay there again for future visits to Quito.

Really friendly and helpful staff. Felt very safe and they couldn’t do enough for you. Booked taxis, helped with airline issues and always there to greet you and answer questions. Delicious breakfasts, comfy beds and super location. Highly recommend!

Everything! We(2 couples in our 60s) used the hotel four times during our stay in Equador. In between trips to Galapagos, the highlands and Amazonian jungle. Every time it was fantastic.

United StatesVery hard to complain about anything....as this place is a definite 'must stay' for a Quito Old Town visit. I'd say, although the breakfast was very good, I thought $14/person for Ecuador was a bit pricey.
The location was amazing, right in the heart of Old Town. The room had the largest bed I've ever seen in my life. Loved the nice HOT shower! The breakfast was amazing, fresh, great selection and delicious. The staff were incredible. Had tea, coffee, and sandwiches and pastries gratis late in the afternoon in the lobby, nice touch to hold us over until dinner. Also, loved the filtered water fill stations on each floor!
