How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewExcellent location right on the main street and next to the castle. Spacious bright and clean, but basic room. Nice outdoor restaurant. I got checked in by a friendly English speaking guy.
It's overpriced for a start, as you are not getting what you think you will be getting! The hotel is perfectly fine for me, but at a different price! It's all about expectations vs. reality. No towel, well, I found them eventually, hiding inside the caboard, as if you are not meant to find them. I normally never use those caboards. The soap and shampoo dispensers in the common bathrooms were chronically empty. If you twist and turn a lot while sleeping, you will wake up to a mess, as the sheets are sliding off because you can't tuck them under the mattress, as the bed and mattress is one piece, like a mattress with legs on. They reluctantly gave me the WiFi code, didn't seem to be an automatic thing to do, but the WiFi was unbelievably poor. Forget booking anything you got to pay for, as it will time out. No WiFi in the restaurant. Well, ONE table on the back had a little bit sometimes! There IS another network called Soffa, but staff 'don't know', the password for it. Breakfast is included, and on my first day, I got an excellent breakfast, but on my last morning I didn't get anything at all. I was waiting from 15 min before until 25 min after the agreed time, but nobody was around. I had to leave, as it wouldn't be time to eat anyway after that time. It was only one bus a day to my destination. On top of all this, my door lock was so awkward, and when I got back after a long day sightseeing, my room door was OPEN! I'm 100% sure I locked it, because I always check it.

Verified reviewI always pick this place when coming for the yearly Old Music Festival. First of all, because it is 5-15 minutes away from every venue by foot. Most of the places interesting me are nearby: museums, galleries, parks; even city library is right next door. The house is nice, food is nice, there is an outdoor area, and people are nice. It is a small place, hence also flexible: if anything is not according to someone's expectations, talk to the staff and it can be arranged. Indeed, some features might not suit everyone: the rooms are on the second floor and there is no elevator. (It would be pointlessly expensive to build one in a small, historical house.) But I can manage it while limping on a walking stick, so it's not that bad. Also, the hygiene facilities are communal, yet as there are not many people, it is not really a problem.
Currently, the restaurant is closed exceptionally early on Sundays (6 p.m.), so it would be nice if there was a way to get a cup of tea or coffee or a snack in-house, although there are other places nearby. Perhaps a vending machine wouldn't be prohibitively expensive? Also, this time there was a little confusion with the wifi password nobody could find. Somehow, I didn't have it from the last year either. In the end, we figured it out; if there is any confusion again, ask me and I can look it up. Finally, it might be practical to have some bigger coffee mugs, too. :)

Verified reviewVery friendly staff, a good room and comfortable bed. The location is in the heart of the town. The breakfast was much better than expected: Eggs, tasty salad, cheese, bread etc. I would come back.
It is not really negative: The room door locks automatically, so just don't forget the key ;-) Maybe, there is another solution??

Verified reviewThe room was nice, clean and spacious, bed very comfortable, location perfect and staff very helpful. It was also very quiet. Air conditioner was a huge bonus as it was extremely hot outside. It was also possible to turn the temperature of the air conditioner cooler or warmer according to one´s taste. In many places there are air conditioners that don´t really function. This one worked perfectly!
As the lady from the staff didn´t know the wifi password I was not able to use wifi. She was very kind and suggested some other public places where wifi was available. If you need to leave your luggage safely in the storage room, make it very clear that it is possible and that the room will be locked with no access to strangers.

Verified reviewLike motels in general. Location ok.
Room from a different building than booked. No breakfast as reserved. They did not agree to pay for the missing breakfasts. Heavely overpriced. Price like a top luxury hotel. Free parking -- not true. On saturday there were nowhere near any free places.
You rented apartment, not hotel room. Please pay attention next time. Apartments are in different building , on the same premises. And you booked on the weekend which was American Beauty Car show, which is the top of event of the year. Id say the price was even low, considering that.

Verified reviewVery center located. Nice parking. Nice size room size.
Facilities like toilet and shower needs to be updated. Also there was soap missing and handtowels. Breakfast was surprise that you only get 1 drink and if you want for example orange juice you need to pay extra (there’s not price list anywhere). Also you can choose omelette, porrige or pancakes for the breakfast and you get slices of bread with a few toppings but that’s it.

Verified reviewGreat location: close to sightseeing, town centre, and local cafes.
It was a noisy place. I had booked a double bed but got two tiny single beds instead. The staff mentioned that the other double beds were already booked. There was some transformer noise coming from the corridor late into the night, and from 6 am onwards, people started moving around, which amplified the noise from the corridor and toilet inside the room. The windows couldn't be opened, and the air conditioning wasn't working properly.
