A minor problem with room temperature control: There is an old baseboard heater for cold nights, but no A/C on warm nights. A reciprocating fan in the upper bedroom would have been nice. (There is no onsite reception after check-in.) One must be careful with the slanted, low ceilings, as I bumped my head several times…my fault!

Great location in Old Town. Very much a character, historical property, dating back to 13th century. Rooms and facilities modernized, with good WiFi connection.

It's not the matter of the hotel, but Tallinn old town in general – try to get your food not to late in the evening, Most places close at 23:00 and open up at 11:00–12:00 even on Saturdays/Sundays. So grab a bite while you can!

The bed, though not very large, is very cozy to spoon under heavy feather blankets, as the room is a bit cold (31st of August), but it's an upside in my book. The small balcony with a view on a tiny courtyard under the Old Town lights is just magical to look at while hugging with your SO. During daytime there's a chocolate cafe in said courtyard if you have a sweet tooth in the morning

Not a complaint but just as a heads-up that there are several stairs including between the bed and bathroom. I could leave my heavy bag below. I was awake but there was some noise at 7:00 a.m. but maybe that was a one time thing.

Location is fantastic - very central but in a quiet courtyard with artisan shops and great chocolate cafe. The unit had a small kitchen. Nice common area with lots of books near the room.

It was quite hot in Tallin when there and while the skylight could be opened, it was still v hot in the apartment as no breeze. Steps to the apartment, not an issue for me but to note.

Excellent location just off the main square but quiet at night. Kitchen facilities are sufficient for basics. Very easy to check in and out and luggage can be stored.

I like it, but important to know regarding luggage and mobility, access to apartment involves going across courtyard cobblestones and up many steep stairs, including to upstairs sleeping area. Plenty to hang on to though. I managed.

The location is unique, in a gorgeous courtyard in the old town. The ceramics studio at the back of the courtyard is a favorite. Parisian 1930’s style chocolaterie/cafe adds to the atmosphere. The host is very accommodating (also has a jewellery store there). Very convenient location. Have stayed before and would stay again.

The location is excellent and I love the ambiance of the area, every time I visit it is magical. It is easy walking distance to anyplace in Old Town and even lovely spots in the city. It is an historic building, walking through the doors kind of feels like stepping into the past. I love the simplicity and history of the place, the convenience, and the kindness of the host and shopkeepers in the courtyard. It feels like returning to a home away from home, if my home were as magical as Tallinn.

It probably is time to re-grout the shower. There are some parts that it has started to look grimmy. The bed is on a 'mezzanine' floor and steps to go up there is a bit steep.

Location is smack in the middle of the old city. Room is clean and the kitchenette is basic but very functional. The shower pressure was great and bathroom was of a good size.

The WiFi did not work well at all. Apparently the entire area shares WiFi and it is really slow in the room we stayed in. Since we were there in winter, we had early nights and just wanted to get work done, etc. that made it difficult. They need a smaller bathroom trash so it actually gets taken out more than once during the stay. We stayed 6 nights and let’s just say it kind of needed to be taken out (no details needed) they just pressed it down instead of taking it out.) I even write them and asked them to take out the bathroom trash and it wasn’t done because it wasn’t full. I think the workers need to know that women sometimes need the trash taken out. Not sure how else to put this, but get a smaller trash can for the bathroom if you want it to be full before disposal.

It was in an amazing location. Staff was pretty attentive.

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Villa Hortensia. We came over for the half marathon, and spent a lovely few days going around the city. The hotel is in the prettiest courtyard in Tallinn, the Masters Courtyard. We loved coming back there every day.
