How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewWe celebrated our wedding at the pool and everything was close to perfect. The staff was very helpful and the location with the Nile in the background is amazing. Farida, Amr, Mina and Hassan did a very nice job 👍
Unfortunately the hotel could need some renewal at some places and in the suite of my friends some wardrobes were not cleaned before which should not happen.

Verified reviewI would like to thank the staff, Husna for accommodating all of my requests and being attentive to details., captain Rania for being so kind and offering us wonderful coffee at the lounge., Husain, Habiba for serving us excellent breakfast. Also I would like to thank Farida: for allowing me to play the piano for extended period of times and for being carrying and checking on my stay every once in a while. There is an interesting guy who gives us quotes every morning is much fun but I unfortunately forgot his name. And last but not least the house cleaning Amina for taking care of everything clean and honest.
Quite honestly there isn't really much to say. The staff overall were excellent 💯 I was very pleased with my stay and would definitely come back when possible.

Poor value for money – the overall quality does not justify the price they charge. Outdated and worn-out room – the bedroom is furnished with old carpet and furniture that feels decades out of date. Everything shows clear signs of wear and tear. Pool unavailable from 3pm for two days over the weekend. Extremely small balcony – barely enough space to stand in the standard ling size room; placing a chair is out of the question. When I pointed out that the room I booked was advertised as having a “balcony" I was told that I should have naturally expected a small balcony which I still don't understand as it's clearly not the case on the photos they advertised: this is very misleading. Later on, I was asked to pay for an upgrade to change room, then offered a discounted upgrade, then proposed to move to the third floor with a decent balcony. After insisting two days later, they actually changed my room. Poor view – half the view of my room window was directly facing a wall. It is therefore very dark. Well-meaning but overbearing staff – while generally friendly, the staff struggle to know where to stand and give guests space. At breakfast, multiple waiters repeatedly asked the same questions, creating a sense of disorganization. The hotel manager approached me several times which felt quite intrusive. Noisy - Even at 11th floor this is way too noisy to sleep when they organize parties at the pool.

Verified reviewThe room upgrade, view from the balcony, pool area, gym area, cleanliness and the restaurant food. All the staff were very helpful, special mention to Mohamed and Hamada on reception who organised the upgrade, we have our daughter with us and this gave us a seperate room for her to sleep in.
There was free wifi which worked but was occasionally slow. I was not a problem as this was a leisure trip.
