My main complaint is the lack of cooperation of the Movenpick with third-party offerers of services on their premises. There is an excellent diving and snorkelling centre right on the property but because they are not officially affiliated with the Movenpick, the centre is not permitted to advertise their services on the Movenpick website, nor do the Movenpick staff have any clue about what the diving centre provides, nor are they willing or able to give out their phone number. I called the hotel ahead of time to arrange for my husband to dive (his absolute passion and dream), but the hotel erroneously told me that I would be able to arrange everything in person after my arrival. This was not so: it was all fully booked and quite complicated to arrange, so my husband was not able to dive -- which was in fact the primary reason we booked this hotel in the first place. When I addressed the issue of the Movenpick not providing sufficient information and how important it would be to provide links to providers of such important guest services as diving (and kite-surfing!) on their website, they said that company policy would not permit advertisement of third-party services. That is extremely bad customer service. We will remember this lack of being able to dive permanently. The hotel has some very odd opening times of various facilities. For example, there is one ice cream vendor open from 1-3pm only and then again (possibly) in the evening. Then there is another ice cream vendor, about 100m away from the first one, open from 3-5pm. One of these accepts hotel vouchers and the other does not. Trying to find an open ice cream place was quite a bother! Similarly, the waterpark is open (at least on the day we went) from 10-1, but the slides only from 11-1. And then they open again from 3-5. So, guests spend quite a lot of time having to figure out when what is open and what is even available. For those staying only a day or two, it's a real nightmare.

The beach and pool were good, though annoying that the pool closes at sunset. The buffet and other restaurants were good. The waterpark nearby was absolutely brilliant, though with strange opening times. The location near a coral reef is spectacular, though accessing it was quite the challenge for us. The best aspect of staying at this hotel is the help the staff provided us when our little boy fell ill. There is an excellent pharmacy within the hotel complex and we were able to get the necessary medications for my little boy to recover. The night-time staff were so helpful with cleaning up messes in the bathroom and bedroom. We were extremely grateful.

Overall the holiday was very pleasant but we got ripped off by two sellers for the souvenir store at the premises (they swapped a vaze which we chose for a broken one and we realised only at home, when we untapped it) and the staff from a spa were rather annoying as they were constantly persuading people to come for a massage. We would appreciate a better choice of cocktails, but we managed 😁

This hotel was as expected. We liked how close the sea was. The staff was very nice, except for some reception staff who didn't feel as welcoming but they were respectful and attentive. The pool bar staff were great and friendly. No one in the hotel asked for tips. We also got a birthday cake for my friend gratis with an egyptian Happy Birthday song 😊 Food was good but rather repetitive.

We did enjoy our stay, but for objectivity, following are some comments we have also fed back to the management to make the experience even better: The hotel is due for some renovation work as the furnishings of the rooms are getting older. The quality of the food in the restaurants can be improved (we tried the Lebanese and the Italian). The main restaurant (buffet) was very good though and food was very nice. The kids club is not great and there is a lot that can be done to improve it for better experience of families with kids. they did have some activities for kids every day though. Though staff are nice and very helpful, some need training to improve their professionalism and service delivery. They are nice and genuinely do their best to help and provide good service, but the standard needs to be brought up to the level of Movenpick. I mainly noticed this is service staff at the poolside and restaurants (e.g. lack of knowledge of the menu, not being able to advice on options and explain the menu, etc. - something that can be improved with proper training) Nonetheless, the above had minor impact on enjoying our stay and it is only mentioned as feedback for further improvement.

We booked a junior suite and we’re upgraded to King sweet. Our check in experience was very good and we were greeted by the Quality Manager and we were assisted throughout the process. Our suite was conveniently located on the ground floor as requested because we have 2 small kids, and as an extra we were in close proximity to the kids club and the swimming pools. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay and everywhere- housekeeping staff, room service, restaurants, poolside, reception, everyone of them did their best to make our stay enjoyable… Other than the hotel, we also tried a massage at the spa which was great! The aqua park is great fun and it is smartly located across the street from the hotel so guests are not disturbed.
