How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewIn Egypt, one tends to encounter magic. Siwa is one of those places, and Paloma Camp is a home that facilitates the magic. The brilliant Nayir, owner and captain of this wonderful ship, is a unique human being, taking you in as one of your own. You are immediately part of this kind man's home. Nayir has built a home that offers tranquility, calm and warmth. Siwa is a different place, and Paloma Camp makes sure your stay becomes memorable. Among the palm trees, near town, and a quick ride away from hot springs and other points of interest, you will undoubtedly enjoy your stay here. I can't recommend it enough, and I can barely wait to return.

Verified reviewThe hospitality and warmth of the camp was beyond amazing. The host Mr Nayer was so generous and friendly. He made us feel like home. The place was clean and comfortable. There was a net for mosquitos. Also, the location was in the city centre. Despite that it was quiet and peaceful. Would absolutely book it again

Verified reviewThe owner and staff are truly kind and approachable, and they welcome you with everything they have. The room is totally clean and quiet so that you can make yourself at home. It's located at the exquisite place, which is not so far from the city but not so close.
It's literally in the nature so sometimes flies and mosquitoes come in, but you can use a mosquito net attached in the room.

Verified reviewI have huge love with the breakfast in the camp. It has a wide range of choices for the guests. The host and the housekeeper take care of me all the time. Additionally, the host is such a warm-hearted person with the best customer service passion, which makes me feel as I am a member in his family. I am also impressed with the decoration of the camp in vintage style. It looks chilled with a lot of trees and plants. The location is perfect to the city center and all the famous places of Siwa. I have a really good vacation here that I don’t want to leave. I will definitely come back to this camp again in the future 🫶🏻

Verified reviewSuper welcoming place, the owner is so friendly and always ready to help. Breakfast is amazing with a variety of Egyptian foods. Location is very close to city center and they can arrange for a driver to go to the main sights further away! As a female solo traveller I felt very safe, which is always important to me.
Can get a bit cold in the camp in the night (this was in February) but they provide lots of blankets!

Verified reviewOnly 5 minutes by foot from the loud and bustling city center lies Paloma lodge & camp with a huge garden full of palm trees. Here it is calm and peaceful. I love the garden and the outside sitting areas. I am vegan and everyday an abundant vegan breakfast was served for me - absolutely delicious! The owner, 'Captain' Nayer, always made sure that I have everything I need and I felt really taken care of. He's the most amazing host! He also creates spaces for the guests to connect and do activities together e. g. through having breakfast together or through sitting around the bonfire in the evening. Also the other staff members are so warm-hearted and I felt immediately like a member of the 'Paloma Family'. It was truly an amazing experience, Siwa in general is a wonderful place as well, and instead of staying for a week, I ended up staying for a month. I'm also pretty sure that I'll come back ;) the value you get for your money at Paloma Camp is absolutely fantastic.

Verified reviewOut of 6 weeks in Egypt this was by far the best experience. Firstly, the camp is amazing and the food is so delicious! Great social areas to meet other travellers and the rooms are spacious and homely. Secondly and most important, the owner Nayer is such a wonderful person who takes care of everything. So kind and generous and fostered a really nice environment for everyone staying. It truly felt like a big family. He also was able to help arrange day tours and provide information on local activities. Like many others, I too extended my stay.

Verified reviewIt was a wonderful time staying here. Nayer, the host made sure everything was taken care of. He arranged me a tuktuk with a kind person, to see the places around. It was a nice time talking to him. The breakfast there was so good, the lentil soup reminded me of home, the cheese and tomatoes was a nice delight. The camp is new, clean, and affordable. Worth the money.

I slept very well. I met a family there and we cooked on the fire and shared a meal. The eating area had nice decorative lighting. The location is a short walk to the main square where transportation is available.

Verified review⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently had the pleasure of staying at a lovely bed and breakfast in Siwa, Egypt, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the host/owner, who went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable.
The beautiful architecture and thoughtful interior design truly set this place apart. Each room is a charming blend of traditional style and modern comfort, which made it a delight to come back to after a day of exploring. The room itself was quiet, immaculately clean, and provided a serene atmosphere— a perfect retreat for relaxation.
