No saftey deposit box in the room, however they were located doenstairs in the reception area. Also a non slip mat in the bathroom could be useful.

The friendliness of the staff, the ambience, the beautiful garden and of course the Nile view.

Dark, dingy and no internet in the room. On our arrival the bell man is a scammer went to bring his friend to offer us a tour. Receiptionist gave our room number and phone to the boat man whose boat we hired a day before. The guy stalked us until the day we left. There’s no privacy and no security at all. The place is full of mosquitoes and dimly lighted. The opposite wing is totally blacked out coz there’s no people. It’s creepy and elevator is slow. It reminds me of the movie Shining looking at the opposite wing. The breakfast is horrible. Never again.

    None.

Some facilities are not well maintained (I believe because of the low occupancy rate due to the national downturn in economy), the dinner was not that good. In spite of that, the service savvy staff made us forget any drawbacks.

Large spacious place, courtesy of the staff, beautiful gardens, two swimming pools, excellent delicious breakfast

The staff were so accommodating, the furnitures were a bit old but it’s really in a good location, there were few guests but we found its better than in a crowded hotel, buffet breakfast was good really and for lunch or dinner they served a la carte instead of buffet but u will find it better than buffets as it is served freshly prepared, u can even requests and they cook it per order, their food was really good, u can take a mini bus by 1 EGP per way and u can reach many tourists areas by this and avoid taxi, their landscaping was fascinating

For starters the hotel rooms were not clean. The carpet was dirty, the beds felt unclean. The bathroom was ok too again not well maintained. Not sure if the room service people even cleaned the room daily. Everything was dusty even their closets. There was no arrangement for tea, coffee in the room let alone the tea kettle which we had to ask for on the third day. There was no drinking water left by the hotel in our room and no glasses either. They mentioned they would have a safe in the room but that wasn't there either. Basically it's just a a room with beds, a disfunctional tv and a non-functional fridge. The heating didn't even work (we came here in December). We asked the hotel people to look into the heating three times but no one showed up. The staff wasn't really friendly either. Specially the guy at the bar. Over all it wasn't a great experience staying here. They could do so much better but sadly that's what we got. Lastly the breakfast wasn't good as well since there wasn't a lot variety and their breads felt stale.

We just liked the location of the hotel. The hotel looks nice but has not been maintained. The cheff Muhammad was very friendly and helpful, met him during breakfast hours. Also the gift shop is nice, the person there is very reasonable if you are looking for stuff go to him before you visit any shop in Luxor because they have unreasonable prices.

I have been staying at the Isis over the last 30 years so i know everything about it,of course it’s older now but apart from not having the entertainment as before, obviously the revolution has changed so much about egypt in general but that doesn’t stop the friendliness within the pyramisa Isis,

The car park. The car was damaged a little. Someone put the tire on flat and the birds had a field day on the car hood and top. Not the best things to have happen other than that we came out alright.

WORST PLACE IN LUXOR!!!!! rooms are super old and disgusting! everybody know that in luxor, all the locals will tell you (too late if you booked it) that this hotel is old, used to be good 20 years ago but now is just a scam! it is 3 times more than amazing places like IBEROTEL and the confort is awful. we had no AC in the room, the breakfast is to vomit and the personel is not so attentionate. avoid this place it is vital. not even wifi in the rooms!

The whole hotel is very run down and clearly in need of some serious modernisation to make it worthy of a 5 star rating. The room was very dirty the fixtures, fittings and furniture are old and the carpet had years of accumulated grime and the room was without decent facilities. No tea and coffee provided and the TV was unusable. The furniture by the pool was equally worn and in need of repair. The chairs were in poor repair with peeling white paint everywhere. The breakfast was equally uninspiring with little things like tea being made in a large urn rather than fresh cups. We were so disappointed that we checked out 3 days into a weeks stay.

The view from the hotel is wonderful. It is located near to a number of very good restuarants.

The cost doesn't reflect the quality of the hotel. It would have been nice 10 years ago but hasn't been updated and is lacking modern television screens and looks overall shabby and in need of love. With the failing economy, this place is suffering from an injection of money. The wifi is free only in the lobby and then about 3-5 £uk per day for not particularly great connection. Couldn't make whatsapp calls or listen to YouTube songs etc. The view is adequate but overall a disappointing stay and we moved on quite quickly. Be sure to check the price as there is a price for Egypt residents and for foreigners. Do not stay on the city side as it is far too noisy and dirty air. This applies to all hotels in Egypt, don't stay city side. Perfectly fine as a base but not for a romantic stay, depends on what you want. Not good for an evening in watching movies, but great if out all day and just want to check emails and get moving.... However, you can get better quality at the same price in another hotel.

The bar man was very nice and friendly. And the restaurant staff friendly also.

I didn't understand how this hotel got 5 star. It is merely a 3 star hotel. I travel a lot and stayed different classes of hotels. A 3 star hotel in muscat was better than this hotel. Wash room was dirty, rotten smell through out the whole corridor. In the breakfast only you can eat is omelet. We had early morning flight on the return day. We requested breakfast at 5:30 (their usual start time), restaurant was closed and nobody from kitchen showed up!!!! No receptionist was available at the reception. We just left our keys with the hotel porter. How rated this hotel as 5 star I don't know. My suggestion for the reader of my review, please don't be fooled by star rating.

The water tab was broken when we checked in. Even the staff of check-in counter (not the one who helped with luggage) gave very strong signinal that he was expecting tips.

Security staff were difficult to deal with and the people outside the hotel just pressured you as soon as you stepped out of the hotel as staff turned a blind eye.

The breakfast was okay the location good.

The negatives were the horse & coach drivers constantly grazing across the road waiting just for you (.Never ever ever deal with them.), The hot water was tepid , & the bedrooms in the main building face West making the terraces almost unusable in the afternoon sun.

Mid May 2015 , weather perfect. 500 bed clean , modern hotel with 2 pools right on the Nile & with multiple bars , good buffet breakfast , excellent & helpful service , & virtually no tourists , maybe a dozen or so at a time. Good clean rooms with fridge & WiFi & good bath.

EVERYTHING there in Luxor is going down. It is only a question of time when most of the hotels will become closed due to the drastical deterioration of occupancy. Max. 10 % hotel occupancy.

View on the Nile and location are fine.

    - It says that they have a range of restaurants but these are all sadly closed due to the lack of tourism since the civil unrest. Because we had a baby who needed to sleep at particular times, we had to order from room service every night and the menu was very limited.

    - location and pool area - very helpful friendly staff
