Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaThere was no full length mirror to see yourself or put your makeup. The room needed more lighting. There was a desk right infront of a mirror so we couldn't use the mirror comfortably.
Everything went well. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was good with a variety of choices.

United KingdomGreat service, nice, very helpful staff with special mention of Ahmed Ismail, Abdel Rahmad and the lovely lady hotel manager. This hotel has a great number of guests in and out all the time so the wear and tear is to be expected. We stayed here on two different occasions during our trip around Egypt and both times had clean, comfortable rooms with comfy beds with view to the swimming pool (newer side maybe?). On both stays we had issues with the Air Conditioning units that were fixed right away after we called housekeeping. The location is great, quite near the airport and there’s a free shuttle service on departure and a discounted service on arrival. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of pastries, fruit and hot and cold options. We liked this hotel and consider it over all good value for money compared to other local options.

United Arab EmiratesBut friendly staff is not enough. The room was old and dirty. The windows have never been cleaned probably since opening. The furniture old and outdated. No effort made aesthetically. Lobby seating not existing so if you’re waiting for someone, it’s like a building entrance. I was given a room on the Main Street and it was too noisy. Car horns day and night. There was no way to open the windows. They claim it is for safety. So if you’re claustrophobic you will struggle. Reception staff always overly busy and not attentive enough. I am a hotelier by trade: some more attention could be given to the travelers choice. Unless they decided that whoever comes through booking.com is lower scale. Very disappointed with the whole stay. I couldn’t wait to leave. And it ruined my whole experience. Never again to this hotel.

United KingdomThe main problem was the shower which would run from dangerously hot (really!) to very cold. It made showering a chore rather than a pleasure. Check in was slow (it was on my last stay too) and whilst the foyer staff were generally helpful, staff who were actually checking in do need to learn to smile(!) We ate in three restaurants. in both he Italian and the Japanese restaurants there was a discrepancy between what was described and what arrived at the table. I would not put a negative review on the internet because that would be unfair. The overall experience was good and I sense that the hotel is working to rectify problems which it knows about. I did recognise some of the comments made in the more negative reviews but the overall tone of the comments was unfair. There would be an enormous benefit from explaining how one is expected to pay for the restaurants (i.e. you can't put things on your room bill) since we were made to look rather stupid at the breakfast on our first day and the staff did not seem to understand that there was any reason for confusion.
Room was comfortable, big enough. Price was very good. Location near to the airport was a deciding factor Bed was comfortable and the toiletries were appreciated by my wife.
