Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe guesthouse looked a little less good as the pictures because there is constructions going on at the moment. But this does not overshadow the great stay we had.
Cute guesthouse at a quiet location in the West Bank of Luxor. The host Nasser is very welcoming and a great chef! The food is amazing. Nasser also helped us booking a 2 day private tour (with guide Karim, who is a great source of information and super friendly guy) and a balloon trip which I both highly recommend. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

SwitzerlandHowever, the room we got was not at all what we booked. The owner admitted that he only uploaded photos of the nicest room on Booking and said, “I have not put pictures of the other rooms on Booking.” He promised to move us the next night to the room we originally booked but instead just switched us to a slightly better room next door. In both rooms, the shower heads either immediately broke or weren’t working properly. The mattresses and interior felt outdated, and the towels were just random beach towels from different brands. It wasn’t terrible, but a more standardized setup would definitely improve the experience. Additionally, the guesthouse feels a bit like a construction site, with ongoing work on the premises and noise from the surroundings. We weren’t there for a pool holiday, so it didn’t bother us much, but it’s something to keep in mind. The price is fair, and things might improve over time as the owner is still building his business. However, if the staff and owner weren’t as friendly, we would have been quite frustrated by the misleading booking and maintenance issues. Their kindness made up for a lot, but future guests should be aware of what to expect. Having worked in the hospitality sector, we know that putting the wrong room on Booking is usually a no-go and makes guests feel cheated. This issue could easily be fixed if there were different room categories listed online, so guests know exactly what to expect upon arrival. Overall, while the hospitality was great, the booking experience was misleading, and the maintenance and room setup could be improved. If you’re flexible, want a pool and prioritize kind service over perfect facilities, it might still be a good option.
We had a mixed experience at Yasmine Guesthouse. On the positive side, the owner was incredibly generous and kind—he helped us with advice, explained things about the area, and even let us stay at the pool longer. The staff was friendly and always available, and the breakfast was good. The rooms were clean, though not spotless. The pool looked clean and the buildings have some nice features and decorations.

Excellent food! We had the chance to see the sunset from our private balcony and it was precious. The muezzin and the animals around keep you grounded to the heart of Egypt. Very nice room and very clean!

United StatesThere is a lot of construction going on nearby and at the hotel itself, which is a bit loud and makes it so that I could not open my window curtains during the day as my room was directly facing the construction workers.
Fantastic staff, comfortable room, very good breakfast! The staff is very accommodating, allowed me to check in early upon arrival, and leave my bags by the reception upon checkout as my flight was later at night. I also used their recommendations for a guide and driver for tours - highly recommend booking these with them! Very fair prices and high quality.

SpainI think the breakfast could be improved. It was not as good or varied as we had in other places. That said, when I asked for some honey to put on the bread, the waiter rushed out to buy some. There is a lot of (noisy) building work going on in the area but that is obviously temporary and has nothing to do with the guest house
Yasmine Guest House is, in fact, two houses together with a swimming pool in between. They are working on a further extension at the back. It could be a little difficult to find as the West Bank of Luxor is all narrow lanes which are not all suitable for minibuses or vans. However, it is two minuets walk from the river and 10-15 from the public ferry to Luxor city. I think the West Bank is a better option for staying in Luxor as it is much less busy and more "authentic" plus there are several good restaurants on the river front The staff at the guest house are very friendly and helpful and can organise everything you need. Karim, the guide, supplied us with a Spanish speaking guide and transport for the two days, and Nasser also helped us by arranging a driver to take us to Aswan through Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo (all worth visiting). Our first morning we also went for a walk around the neighbourhood (as recommended by Karim) and that was fascinating. Nasser (the owner) also arranged an evening faluca trip which we all thoroughly enjoyed. All in all, a good place to stay away from the noise and hassle of the city.
