To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomThe only negative which has been raised in trip advisor was the price of the taxi firm you use. We asked for a taxi to take us to the airport. He charged 49 euros, far more than what we were advised to expect. We could have just walked and found one ourselves as there were plenty available. Would also say the driver exceeded the speed limit and it was an uncomfortable experience.

SloveniaEverything was nice and clean which is very much important to me. I was staying in December and I am maybe used to a little colder sleeping environment, so 20 degrees for sleeping was too much for me but it couldn't go lower than that. I guess that this is not problem for the most of the people, on contrary.
The best thing about the hotel is its location. Breakfast was also amazing with a great variety of different dishes. The room, despite the fact that it was tiny was nicely organized with all needed facilities. The particular room didn't have an outside window (there was one facing the inner part of the building, but nevertheless I have had no need to even open the window. If you're in a city center you mostly do not want to breathe city air. As for the view, if you're planning on visiting Barcelona the view from the hotel room is not that important.
