Buffet breakfast...they may as well not bother! Tiny breakfast room, little choice, and what there was available was poor quality. But you don’t go to Bilbao for breakfast...

Location at heart of old quarter, clean and comfortable.

The humidity of the city and the age of the building adds to the dankness and mildew smell in the bathroom. There is an automatic scent distribution device that constantly squirts out a strong strong scent, not unlike men's cologne. It covers the dank but it overpowering and sharp. There is no air conditioning or dehumidifiers so the room can feel muggy and moist. Staff can be sullen and grumpy. There was also preponderance of ants all over the place.

Clean sheets, decent beds, good location in the middle of the Casco Viejo, clean bathrooms with hot water. Reasonable prices.

Building easy to find but no sign outside and no idea which buzzer to press. Luckily someone was coming out, so directed us. It is simple and basic, but you get what you pay for.

Great location, in the heart of the old town of Bilbao. So there will inevitably be some street noise, but nothing too bad. Very basic but clean. Simple DIY breakfast but included in price. Staff on desk were pleasant. Good hot shower. It is more of a pension than a hotel, with no actual facilities but great value. Within 15 minutes walk of Guggenheim.

The signage for Hotel Bilborooms is almost non-existent so it is easy to miss! It is exactly where Google Maps says it should be though. There is also no elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up one flight of stairs.

The location is fantastic! Right in the heart of old town, and walking distance to tapas/pintxos bars and eateries. Gugenheim is 20mins walk away. The room was clean with good quality basic amenities. A baby cot was provided on request. Breakfast was basic but tasty and plentiful - we had cornflakes with milk (con leche!), jam on toast, coffee and orange juice. The staff were friendly enough. Their english es muy poco so come prepared with some basic Español.

information about how to access the building prior to arriving as there was no sign on the street saying Bilbo rooms. I ha difficulty getting in as I did not know what bell to ring.

Proximity to old town. Helpful staff who agreed to mind a bag for me for a week although the downside of this is they don’t have anywhere secure to keep it.

My room was right next to the kitchen area and I could hear everything with ment I didn’t sleep much. The room was completely overheatet like sleeping in 40+ degrees, and I couldn’t adjust it.

The hotel has a 24 hour Reception so you have to leave your room key in the hotel and use the intercom to access the building from the street. This is not a problem, except that when we arrived back on the Saturday night / Sunday morning the Receptionist was asleep, so we had to wait 5 minutes or so pressing the buzzer!

Great location - right in the centre of the Casco Viejo (Old Town), this basic, no frills hotel offers a cheap option for one or two nights.

Gave me a key for access to the building but forgot to mention that for the outside door you needed to push a bell which had no distinguishing labels from the other 4 bells. - The staff was not friendly nor helpful, they seemed almost annoyed that we were there. - Communication in English was almost none. - Only 2 small pieces of soap in the bathroom and no other toiletries - Very loud at night, despite using ear plugs - Only single bed sheets. Basically they are 2 single beds put side by side. It would have been nice to have double bed sheets at least.

The pillows in our room were full of little hard lumps, really dirty, and clearly hadn't been changed in years. The manager tried to blame the guy who was on night duty for not being able to change them, but they should never have been used in the first place. The bathroom always smelt bad, and the sink drained really slowly. A real shame as the place could be good value for money, but really basic things were not looked after. Our room was noisy as it's just in front of reception, and the bed was like a fold up bed, not a real one.

There was no sign to say it was a hotel,we just pressed a buzzer on the door and hoped for the best. It was an absolute nightmare to find. The toilet didn't work in our room, there was no plug. The staff didn't speak English. Our room faced a courtyard which everyone could see into also we didn't have a curtain. I requested an early check in and I still couldn't check in until 2.

basic breakfast, very basic toiletries, wrong taxi arrangement on the day of departure, part of this caused by us not speaking nor Basque or Spanish and the staff not being fluent at all in English. So after all nothing to call this booking or hotel a disaster. If you do a quick booking you get what you pay for.

Great location, right in the center of the old town, but in a quiet street. In three minutes you walk to the several restaurants and to the public transport. Don't book this though if you have problems with steps, no elevator to come onto first floor where the hotel is.

Prime old town location. Friendly helpful young staff. Price reflects accommodation which was clean and tidy, and breakfast basic and simple as expected. Great for 1 or 2 nights. No disappointments.

No kettle-had to micro-wave water or coffee. Staff in the way at breakfast in a small space. Confusion about changing rooms when only staying 2 nights. Disappointing breakfast.

Location. Good use of space and smart decor.

This, apparently, is a legal hotel but there is no sign anywhere. We arrived at night and couldn't find it. We passed it many times but as there is no sign .......... and no shop owner in that street could help us and nobody knew. Once you know where it is you need to press a bell and the standard answer is 'Si???'. Not very welcoming. Secondly, if you arrive by car, forget this place. Parking is a night mare. Then breakfast. It's so bad that they're better off NOT offering anything. Shameful really and I seriously mean that. You can't really fault the room itself but I will definitely not recommend this nameless hotel to anyone. Go elsewhere.

    Nothing, certainly not recommended.

The breakfast was rudimentary, but understandably so given somewhat limited facilities.

Aside from the location, it was the lady who checked me in. She didn't have any English, but was very gracious, and with the help of Google translate, everything worked out quite nicely. Also the rooms and decor were very decent.

Would you like staff to speak condescendingly to you in Spanish after you explain you would prefer English? Would you like to be serenaded at all hours by men on the street looking for money playing repeats of old classics with amplifiers? Do you enjoy not being able to use the shower for more than 5 minutes since "the building is old" and the shower actively leaks on the floors below? Then, this place is for you! If not, we suggest you keep looking :)

No lift, but it is in the first floor. Our room was small , had no view and overlooked an interior patio. In order to keep our privacy we had to have our curtains closed. Not so good wifi

In the heart of the old city.Very helpfull staff.Clean.The hotel is in the first floor of a flat in "casco vieho",the old city.Lots of bars and restaurants in the neighborhood.Very close to the metro station.
