Difficult to get to because of roadworks, but that was not the fault of the hotel.

We had a half-board option which was extremely good value. The included evening meal was 3 courses from a separate menu from the restaurant's main menu with a choice in each section. Breakfast was good and extensive. For an extra 10Euros you can park in the Bodega's underground car park.

While the room was excellent and facilities faultless the bed could’ve been a bit comfier. Mattress was firm. I just prefer a softer top. Very clean bedding and towels good.

Location excellent for railway station and short walk into town centre. Nice cafeteria facilities for breakfast.

    1. The public areas (bearing in mind they were where the wifi was available) were cold. 2. The range of items for breakfast were unimaginative and restricted. 3. The range of hot breakfast dishes was limited to scrambled or fried eggs, ham (looked processed), mushrooms all served just warm and immersed in oil. Tried once only! 4. The pastries were heavy and poor 5. The quality of the dinner meals was average and the menu unchanged during the length of our 7 day stay (included a weekend when you might have expected it to change). 6. The restaurant/bar/lounge area closed each day in the early afternoon so on one particularly wet and cold afternoon we were confined to our room.

    1. The geographical location 2. The comfort of the bed 3. The friendliness of the staff. 4. The cleanliness of the room on first arrival. 5. The size of the safe sufficient for laptops etc 6. The freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast time

Parking cheaply can be an issue around the area during busy season.

Front desk staff were excellent - super helpful & knew a lot about the surrounding area. The room was clean, tidy and well presented. The shared/common area courtyard was a great escape from the crowds of coastal Spain - it's also very nicely presented. The location is wonderful if you aren't in a hurry or if you have a car, as it's a short boat ride away (or a 15 min car ride away) from Cadiz, a good 10/15 minute walk into Santa Maria town, and a 30 minute walk to the local beach (which is worth the walk as it is quieter than Cadiz). It's a great hotel to stay at if you want to be near enough to Cadiz but not in the thick of the crowds. Of course it is also a great hotel to check out Santa Maria.

I would say it's a 3 star hotel, but still a nice place to stay if you are traveling with the car (quite a long promenade to the nearest beach, min 45min)!

The location is quite good, not far from the station, bars and restaurants! The hotel site itself is amazing- very picturesque

Staff was plain. Not courteous, not friendly. They were just there. The room we were given was a smoking one and stung. We were changed to another one that was a smoking one too thought the smell was better

Room was very small with only one bedside table/lamp; bathroom was very small - the door banged against the shower screen on entry; and the shower/bath leaked badly onto the floor. Also WiFi only downstairs in reception, not in bedroom. We don't class this a 4-star hotel, more like a 3 star.

Our bathroom was poor by the standard of most hotels we have stayed at on our travels. The shower cubicle was vintage and my wife found it difficult to open and close the sliding doors. The bracket holding the shower head was broken, there was a hole in the bathroom ceiling, the result of an old water leak from the room above, which had not been repaired. We had a power failure in the room when a short circuit blew one on the ceiling lights, we were told it would be repaired but it was not rectified during our four night stay. Maintenance seems to be a low priority.

The staff were attentive, breakfast was good, the garage convenient. Good location for walking to the town and ferry terminal to Cadiz.

Our freinds have got a much smaller room, not so comfortable, with a terasse-door , opening to the inside corridoor, not the best solution.

A few minutes walking from the city center. Very andaluz stylish hotel-inside. Very big room, big bathroom, cleaness everywhere, good breakfast. Comfortable beds.

Very friendly and helpful staff who all spoke flawless English. They really went out of their way to help and even reserved a table at a restaurant for us prior to our arrival. It was an old style Spanish hotel and very clean. Room was huge and AC worked like a charm.

It would have been nice to be able to get a drink during the day and sit and enjoy it in the courtyard but it seemed very quiet - maybe they have longer bar opening hours in the busy season - however, there were plenty of places close by to get drinks, just not such a pleasant setting.

We loved the old building and beautiful courtyard. Room comfortable and very clean. Very handy location for exploring El Puerto and within very easy reach of trains and buses to visit Jerez, Seville, Cadiz & Valdellagrana. A bit of a hike to the boat to Cadiz, but it was too windy while we were there so didn't apply! Very helpful reception staff. Plenty of choice at breakfast and cooked bacon and eggs were delicious!

I feel for the cost Bodega Real did not meet expectations. The room was dark, a small tube TV, No flat iron or ironing board (I needed to iron a shirt), the Bed was very hard (may be good for some) the 2 pillows were not comfortable at all and when asked for 2 more (my wife asked) she was not given convincing reassurance they would provide us 2 more. I went to the front desk and the night desk employee did go and get them. Although it appeared reluctantly. The bathroom was so small that you could not open the door all the way. The shower did have great water pressure which was nice. Over all I would not stay at the Bodega Real again. The price does not match the accommodations. One good thing is the train station is within walking distance and you can park there if you'd rather not pay the 10 or 11 euros too park in the basement. Aesthetically the hotel is nice, just not the rooms.

Little things like the faulty connection on the Television, which was not important as it only showed Spanish programs anyway... And the great breakfast was diminished by a rude bad tempered waitress

Didn;t try breakfast so can't comment on that. Ramp into car park would be awkward for large vehicle. Wifi only in common areas

Lovely old building, immaculately clean, very quiet. Room very comfortable, very large and comfortable bed. Staff efficient and friendly. Ten minute walk from centre of city, easy to walk everwhere. Great price even for this time of year. Would highly recommend.

1 lift out of order with a smell of an electrical burn next to our room. Dangerous staircase for small people and adults too if not paying attention (open rope bannisters with insecure posts). Dreadful coffee at breakfast which cost 10 Euros. Second morning went to cafe and got watered down orange juice. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Attitude of a few of the staff lets down the efficiency of reception.
