The pool side loungers we’re not comfortable. I cut my leg twice on the arm rest the edges were very sharp. A cushion on the beds would make a difference.

The accomadating staff, the location and the tranquility of the whole place.

Bird poo on sun loungers not cleaned off. The towels seriously need replacing - they are old and don't smell fresh. Breakfast became boring. Didn't like the pond in the centre of the breakfast dining area.

    The location. The gardens.

    Leaving

The hotel exceeded our expectations considerably. We are used to staying at high end places in Mallorca and this was certainly up there with the best. The setting, halfway up (or down), the mountains is very beautiful. We had a warm welcome and, as we had arrived late, the receptionist booked us a table in a restaurant in the village. We had a drink in the upstairs bar and spoke at length with the owner (William) about how he had created the hotel over the last ten years to the high standard it is today. The room (a garden room), was spacious, very comfortable, and completely clean. All the fixtures and fittings were of high calibre- even Bose surround sound speakers for the tv! The pool area is very quiet, very nice, and very relaxing. Overall, and excellent hotel with really friendly, well trained staff. We cant't wait to go back!

Would have liked tea & coffee making facilities in room. Had to pay to leave car in car park - which was down hill from the hotel - or use free one further away, this was not made clear at booking.

Atmosphere was tranquil & serene. Room was comfortable with luxurious bathroom including heated towel rail. Breakfast was beautifully presented. In April everywhere smelt of orange blossom especially around pool.

Lovely hotel with beautiful rooms (we had the junior suite). Wonderful garden with pool, orange trees, and mountain view. Perfect location with many hiking routes starting right from Fornalutx. Most friendly staff going out of their way to support with hiking tips, restaurant bookings, sightseeing recommendations, etc. Impeccably clean. Great breakfast served as mini-buffet at the table. - My third stay, and they are keeping up the high standards!

Village hotel, suitable for a short stay in relaxing surroundings.

There are no catering facilities other than the provision of a rather dull breakfast. Good orange juice, boring bread (such as one finds in so many Spanish hotels, and such a pity because the village has a cracking little bakery), a slate with transparent charcuterie, what appeared to be shop bought packet sliced cheese, but the fruit was good, cereals etc. provided. After complaining they did actually warm up the croissants, but note that if you want an egg it's extra (3.5-4.5 euros depending on how you want it done); toast is not provided unless you ask, but it's free! Note also that the cobbled street to the door is very steep, difficult with cases up or down, and the hotel keeps a small number of parking slots in the municipal car park at the bottom of the hill and charges 7 euros per day. First come first served, otherwise you take your chance. You would be mistaken to try to drive up to the hotel entrance. We would use Can Verdera again, for a short stay, and without the car, take a taxi from the airport and for day trips, because for all the above the garden, the pool and the location make it a relaxing place to stay.

Village location, lovely garden, comfy bed, and lovely pool A selling point is its location in a charming village with the necessary facilities - several passable restaurants, cafes, shop, and bakery. Room great, aircon, no comfy chair, bathroom fine, we also had a nice private terrace with table and metal chairs. Staff were all very helpful, especially the gardener who doubled as early morning room tea service. We were grateful when the helpful receptionist provided us with a kettle to make tea.

Don't follow the satnav at the end up to the hotel once you are in the main Centre of Fornalutx as it is a very narrow cobbled steep road - you need to find the car park at the bottom of the road. Hotel staff are happy to help with luggage.

The hotel was beautiful, very tranquil. The courtyard where we had breakfast was stunning, pool excellent, clean & peaceful. Our room had no view but was large, comfy bed, lovely bathroom, plenty of storage space. Breakfast were continental & delicious- plenty to choose from (fresh fruit, cereals, cheese, meats, croissants, pastries, fresh orange juice etc) All staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. We stayed 3 nights (spent another 7 days on the island elsewhere). I would recommend emailing the hotel if you need a car parking space - the hotel have a limited number reserved in the nearby carpark for hotel residents 7 Euros per day. If not you have to pay each day between 9am-1pm and again from 3pm to 8pm, or you can buy a pass (any number of days) from the local council building. We would definitely go again.

    Can't think of anything!

Can Verdera is in a beautiful mountain village with astounding views from the property. We began each day with breakfast in the shaded courtyard, hiked all day on an excellent system of trails, came back in the late afternoon to lounge at the pool and terrace bar, and then sauntered down the street to a great selection of restaurants. Pure heaven for five days!

Breakfast was meagre and if you wanted something hot like scrambled eggs or a bit of bacon there was an extra charge for this!!! Thought it was very petty to charge extra for something hot which generally comes as standard in most hotels.

The hotel is uphill in a very narrow road, very quaint but literally impossible to get up.. The hotel should state in their literature not to attempt it, we had to reverse and shunt back and forth keeping fingers crossed the car wasn't damaged.

Lovely place to relax, the garden lounge was perfect, comfortable and sheltered from the burning sun - and thunderstorms. Loved the layout of the whole place. Although the rooms are looking slightly shabby now it still retains its charm.

I do not understand that in a hotel that costs at least 200€ per night can't offer internet connection at the pool side. A small fridge in the room is missing. Not an unneccesary luxuary in a warm climate. Both are not big investments, but would improve the score of the hotel a lot. Why not a small buffet for breakfast. Every day exactly the same breakfast is not OK... and extra costs for getting an egg as breakfast. Again not good cost/benefit ratio.

It is a calm and comfortable hotel. Nicely located in the different Mallorca. Personnel is very friendly and helpful.
