Nothing...We even liked the drive to park next to the Hotel which involved driving past the Tourist Information Office along a collonaded passage!!

Exceptional stay...right at the centre of an idyllic town, close to the forests and volcanos of Garrotxa. Our room was facing the Castle walls and there was even a zip-wire erected for a short time right next door to the Hotel1 San Pau is small but lovely...just like the Hotel....which is owned by a genuinely engaging couple, one of whom manages the Hotel, with her Hubby running the superb restaurant....Thanks for a lovely experience....Chris and Polly

The dinner was very good but could have been enhanced with vegetable or salad options to complete the dish. Also the option of boiled eggs with avocado at breakfast for guests who prefer to have a gluten free meal.

The hotel had a lot of character, within an excellent location to explore the amazing countryside and with friendly staff who were always happy to help.

It is more a suggestion than a dislike as we loved the hotel! But we always appreciate it if a hotel provides an electric jug and tea making facilities. Even if not in the room they could be in a common area

Style!! This is a charming hotel in a lovely old village and run by the owners who are both local and cosmopolitan. The hotel has been in the same family for several generations. The attached restaurant is well worth a try . The Manager of the hotel is also the owner and she is attentive, smart, understands hospitality, and speaks excellent English. Her husband runs the restaurant which attracts well known Catalans. The rooms are beautifully appointed with care to detail, and modern whilst in an ancient building. The shower in a stylish and recently renovated bathroom is AMAZING

Fairly average breakfast, would have liked a breakfast like we had in Torla!

Lovely, spacious room with good views, in village centre and close to good walking in park. Friendly welcome and nice restaurant for dinner.

On-suite ,although very new and modern with walk in shower, had a really unpleasant odour all the time ,No places to put anything on eg. Makeup bag,,no hooks for clothes in the bathroom,,or soap in the shower ...just the floor. Bedroom ....No drawers, wardrobes, safe only very minimal open shelving and a few hooks for hanging up clothes. No extras such as coffee/ tea facilities ,paper tissues or anything else .....bare minimum...Spare toothbrushes and shaving cream, shampoo . All of Santa Pau has no restaurants / cafés open for evening meals on Tuesdays. The hotel restaurant was very expensive with very small quantities but well presented and tasty. We had to go out to another town to eat on the Tuesday.

Breakfast ,reasonable choice Lift very handy. Good climate control Large size and good if disabled.....bathroom etc. Wifi

Restaurant was pricy, food average,my grilled shrimp weren't good. Parking available in walking distance, it wasn't easy to find it, extremely narrow streets to reach it.

Beautifully decorated old house, binder full room in rustic and antique style, very nice terrace and breakfast area.

My girlfriend ordered shrimps for 18 € and just got ...shrimps. 5 little shrimps. Nothing more. Absolutely to little food for the money. No potatoes. No fries, no salat, no vegetables, nothing! I ordered fillet. It was not tender. I returned it. Couldn't chew it. They baked it again and served the same piece of meat. Couldn't believe my eyes. The free coffee at the end couldn't take away the bad experience.

The place and location is absolutely great and romantic.

We were welcomed immediately by the owners Eva and Jesus with open arms. It was like returning home to old friends. Cal Sastre was a very special experience because of the comfort, dedication, pride, and friendliness that Eva and Jesus showcase. The hotel itself is based on history of Jesus's grandfather being a well-known tailor of the area. Trinkets and antiques were sprinkled throughout the hotel to link back to this piece of history and add personal touches to the atmosphere. The rest of the hotel functioned modernly with antique charm, woodwork, and thoughtful spaces. The room was quite large with a comfortable bed, picture windows, a jacuzzi tub (with shower), and many other touches that added to a romantic stay. While Eva does a perfect job running the hotel, Jesus orchestrates delicious meal experiences at the adjoining restaurant. He takes care of his guests with a glass of cava and has a comprehensive menu of offerings. A specialty is the fesoles de Santa Pau (white beans). You must order those to start for an authentic experience! Finish your meal with the cheese plate and some homemade rataffia digestif. Location-wise, the hotel is situated perfectly in the volcanic area in order to explore the parks and swim in the waterfalls. We wished we had more time to stay at Cal Sastre to not only continue exploration of the area but to be around Eva and Jesus. What a dynamic duo!

Great base for walkers and exploring the region in general. Not the place to stay if you don't like small towns and the countryside.

This is very minor, but we had a hard time finding the hotel as the main road to it was closed for construction, so we had to find a different route and our GPS took us on a wild goose chase.

Cal Sastre is a lovely, charming boutique hotel that was renovated in a wing of the old castle in Santa Pau. Eva is warm and friendly and eager to accommodate her guests. The room was large and wonderfully appointed and comfortable. We had dinner at the restaurant on-site and it was delicious and our every need was anticipated and attended to. Really loved this hotel and the town, which is surrounded by lush green countryside and hills, with the Pyrenees in the distance.

The owners used to have an other house wth hotel rooms, with balcony's and if you see the pictures you can tell there was also a garden to sit in. On the new location things are great, but there is no garden en most of the rooms have no balcony. Pictures and text were not yet changed on the site!!

The location is great in this medieval village of Sant Pau. Rooms and everything is great.

The flies continually invading our unscreened and unairconditioned room which disturbed our sleep; having to ask for toilet paper on two occasions; no fresh towels in four nights despite asking for them; no refrigerator to cool drinks; having to take baths as the shower head was not operational.

The proprietor was very obliging and hard working.
