Great priced hotel in the mediaeval town of Castillo D'Empuries. Breakfast a little bit lacking in choice but view from rooftop breakfast area is amazing. The menu of the day is really good value and includes wine, you can sit outside the hotel opposite a small square. Free car parking is great as is swimming pool in the old convent. The owners are very chatty and helpful as are all the staff

We know this hotel well. We have visited five times since and including 2004. It is a family run hotel run by friendly people and run very well. Castello d' Empurieus is a partially walled medieval city. It is a lovely town with very friendly people. Hotel Canet's restaurant is very good and reasonably priced serving Catalan and Spanish food. You never leave the table hungry.

I have eaten here many times and the food has always been very good. Breakfast is a delight as it is taken on the roof where you can enjoy the rising sun and a wonderful panoramic view. Room 401 is great; it is spacious with comfortable beds, an excellent bathroom and it's own private roof top terrace and easy access to the solarium. The location is tops as you are right in the centre of the medieval part of the village. Put this together with friendly and helpful staff and you can't go wrong.

    No negatives to report.

After a long day of sightseeing in the Dali Triangle, the hotel's swimming pool (which is actually located in a former convent that's within easy walking distance from the main hotel building, and adjacent to the hotel's private parking lot) was wonderful! Breakfast outdoors on the rooftop terrace overlooking the town of Castello d'Empuries and nearby countryside (all the way to the Mediterranean) was a visual treat. And the breakfast was excellent (i.e., great assortment of fruits, yogurt, dried meats, cheeses, breads, croissants (with or without chocolate), individually made coffee, warmed milk, etc.). Lastly, I'd be remiss if I didn't add that we also ate dinner in the hotel's restaurant one evening and were treated to the tastiest gazpacho that I've ever experienced.

A shame you have to walk further down the road (150 meters) to acces a rather small swimming pool. When we went swimming, the pool was rather overcrowded. Breakfast was a dissapointment, the kind of breakfasts you would expect in Italy. ( Buns in packing, no fresh fruit juice and limited choice,...). At 200 meters from the hotel there's a parking lot but not easy to park, hence small parking space (in high season towards the evening almost always full). Menu of te restaurant limited if you plan to eat several times during your stay.

This hotels main advantage is its location. In the middle of a historic, beautiful lively town. Enough comfort and perfect wifi connection. Stunning view from the 4th floor (breakfast location - open air). Lots of festivity in town and great location to visit Roses.

We were made to feel very special by the owner and all the staff, the restaurant was excellent and offered a menu del dia for 20 euros that included a bottle of wine and water. Breakfast was on the 4th floor with amazing views over the mediaeval town and countryside. Also we were very lucky to be given a room upgrade which was amazing with 2 queen size beds and a Jacuzzi. The hotel is very central to many beautiful areas including Cadaques and Figueres which has the Salvador Dali museum

The breakfast was ok, but it would be nice if more fresh fruit was available. It is served on the rooftop and it would be nice to sit outside and enjoy the views over breakfast, but sadly spoilt by all the people who feel a need to start their day with a cigarette. There is not much the hotel can do about this though and the same all over Europe...

Lovely hotel beautifully located in the centre of Castello d'Empuries, a pretty old town with a great history and attractive old streests and buildings. Private parking was good. The swimming pool is a lovely feature just a very short walk from the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff and a nice restaurant. We had a family suite in the annexe and it was just lovely - renovated with marble and very spacious with super air con to cool down. Altogether a lovely place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the coast, yet near the sea and other great attractions like Figueres. Great ice cream place just around the corner from the hotel too. Would definitely choose to stay here again.
