Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content

- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.

Not a lot.
The location of Carlos V is excellent. The staff are friendly and efficient. Despite being in the very centre of the historical city, the hotel rooms are really quiet.

The window was shuttered and we could y open it so did not get natural light which wasn’t ideal. There was a wall opposite the window so no view at all. Finding the car park for the hotel was difficult. We hired a car one day and gave up on the one way systems and pedestrian areas and parked in another car park which was slightly more expensive.
The location is what you are paying for here, it could not be better. The staff were all excellent, patient and friendly. They ordered a cab for us on our last day which picked us up right outside. Only 20 mins to the airport. We had got the bus and walked from the bus station when we arrived which was only 25 mins. The bus was 4€ and the taxi cost us 24€. The room was quiet.

Wasn’t impressed with bedlinen - feel the furry blankets should be a thing of the past😊
Enjoyed my stopover in Malaga before hooking up with family and travelling to Sotogrande Very efficient staff on the concierge desk and extremely helpful Location very central just as I remembered it from previous stays in Malaga Glad to be able to get a breakfast as cafe across the street is now more upmarket I think - drinks/cocktails

You need to be careful in the bathroom and in the bath itself. I wore flipflops and was fine but there was a risk of slipping.
Excellent location. Wonderfully quiet although in the heart of Málaga. The museums, restaurants, parks all outside the door and this makes a short visit really easy.

The funny velvet chairs in the rooms are odd, but they are reasonably comfortable, and they could be worse.
This is my go-to hotel in Málaga. Each year, I usually pass through Málaga three or four times. I am always happy to see the staff, Jesus, Alvaro, and the breakfast room attendant, who used to be Carmen, are all very sweet and professional. The rooms vary considerably, but aside from hallway noise, they are free from the raucous sounds of Malaga's fun-loving streets. In addition to the staff, the location is fabulous. Cathedral on one side, Roman amphitheater and Moorish fortress on the other. I have tried both Airbnbs and other hotels in Málaga, but I always return to Carlos V.

Would have been nice to have tea making facilities in our room.
Ideal location, close to all the main attractions in the old town. Comfy room, large double bed, excellent shower, good wifi. Breakfast was absolutely fine and just as you'd expect. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was ready early, check in was straightforward. We were able to leave our luggage at reception after checking out and before we had to leave for the airport.

Breakfast could be improved; offer a way to toast bread/warm up croissant, maybe offer a hot entree, service was great though.
Perfect location, close to many of the main attractions as well as places to eat. The staff was super friendly and helpful with staff available at all hours.

The hotel lies right in the midst of all which is worthwhile to visit in Malaga!! It is a nice little hotel, which was totally quiet during night after the nearby bars closed not too late in the evening!

Both the central location and the private parking nearby were very much to my liking. I also enjoyed some very nice restaurants within 50 or 100 meters from the hotel. All the great sites to visit were only a few hundred meters away: the Alcazaba, Roman theatre, Malaga museum (very quiet), Picasso museum (very busy) and the cathedral. Being so nearby enabled me to visit them early and avoid the biggest crowds. Room was small, but had all the necessities and was very quiet and clean. Staff very helpful. Breakfast pretty good.
