Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FinlandBecause it's El Rocio everywhere inside, including the room, there is fine sand on the floors. Not fun. Also the location or address given in Booking.com isn't the actual location of the hotel
Good basic cold breakfast. No hot food (eggs, bacon or similar). Friendly staff, central location

United KingdomThe weather - it poured with rain, though we still loved it!
A fabulous location, close to everything we needed. Bed very comfortable. Room was nicely decorated and there was a huge comfortable drawing room and inner court yard available to use. Staff were cheerful and friendly. A decent typical Spanish breakfast was served. Would definitely go back.

SpainOver the two night stay, most of the time there was no staff around. I had to wait for a receptionist at check in, never saw anyone the next morning or evening, or anyone when I checked out at 9:00 AM. At check in they said we could have coffee and tea in the morning, but the coffee machine with hot water was not working. The showerhead was not in good condition, but no one around to report it to.
Comfortable hotel in a good location.

NetherlandsWe were very surprised by the location in El Rocio (because we just chose on the map somewhere near the entrance to the Donana nature reserve). We were upgraded to their location in the center, which didn't look much from the front but appeared to be a little 'palace' inside. The breakfast was basic but good. Personnel was very friendly. Donana wetlands on your doorstep!

United KingdomUnfortunately, the mattress, it did not support my back, as it was a foam. I would recommend ringing or sending an email to find out what type of mattress if you have a back issue. The room was also quite small. I should have asked for an upgrade as there were rooms with separate sitting area.
The location was ideal within walking distance of the main central area, but far enough away from any celebrations that might be taking place. Our room was at the back of the property, which was ideal as we arrived on one of the weekends that the brotherhood celebrate with lots of partying. However, due to the location of the room, we didn't hear anything. The shower was great, it is so nice to have hot water in the morning, and returning from a day's walk. It was also nice to have tea and coffee, but that was only from 4pm to 8pm, and only for 2 nights. Breakfast was not included, but it was available at another hotel, 5 min walk at Hospederia El Cazadero Real for 8 euros, very nice. The staff were really helpful, and friendly.

GibraltarBuilding works next door began quite early. Breakfast in a separate hotel so you need to walk 5/10mins to get there- not a bad thing, just unexpected. Coffee facilities downstairs were great, but there were not enough cups available to guarantee you could get one when you wanted.
Breakfast in the other hotel was lovely, nice view. Bird songs in the morning were nice to listen to.

United KingdomNo real complaints. I never tried breakfast, I didn't really know where to go for it but I was out early birding every day, so I probably wouldn't have taken it anyway.
Nice little hotel with coffee making facilities. The air con and shower worked fine and my room cleaned daily. Wi fi was ok too, my room was close to the hub.

DenmarkI was not told beforehand that I had to change the hotel to Palacete, so when I turned up at Arenas there was nobody there at the reception; I had to phone and was told that I had to change hotel. That was a big drag because after having dragged my suitcase through the sand for 1 km I had to drag it once more another 1 km, so I was totally exhausted and a bit annoyed when I came to Palacete. Tha stay was very nice by the way.

PortugalWhen booking i selected breakfast included but when I arrived the staff said I did not have breakfast include. So we had to pay an extra 7€/person for breakfast (which was fairly good). There was too much noise from other guests, even at 4 am, specially because our room was in the first floor. Overall the hotel does not have a good noise insulation.
They had free coffee and free tea available all day long. The room and the hotel in general were very clean. Room was comfortable although lacked natural light.

SwitzerlandAlthough the hotel is rustic, there could be basic improvements to make the stay more comfortable, such as a bench, a shelf in the bathroom, or a closet to hang clothes (there was a tiny closet so we left our clothes in the suitcases) Also, our shower was not draining and we could not find anyone in the reception the following day to report it. On the second day, the receptionist -who was very nice- moved us into a different room.
The quadruple room was big and had comfortable beds.
