Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceMattresses are a a bit too soft and the fan could be stronger. Other than that it’s super clean and the place is really perfect for a night.
Nice welcome, very cute place, super easy to go in and out in the small town.

AustraliaAdvertised on the website and in the room as providing breakfast, however this was not the case. There were breakfast options in cafes nearby so not really a problem but I think the information should be updated.
Lovely furnished room with great views from the windows, thoughtfully decorated. Our host was happy to provide us with a kettle and mugs for beverages. There is a also fridge guests can use for cold goods and a small lift.

South AfricaHad to park car, a bit further from accommodation but understand that there is lack of space in the town.
Friendly welcome and great assistance from owner. Very unusual and different location, set in a walled town. Liked the wine tasting by Carlos in a cave in the town. Unique experience. Central to La Rioja wine area.

United KingdomNo parking, as an old, walled town but free public parking very nearby, so not really a problem.
Super location, right beside the town walls. Had a beautiful meal in a nearby restaurant. We had a superior double room, with a tiny balcony. Rooms were immaculate and bed very comfortable. Check-in was smooth and man behind desk very informative.

LuxembourgWe booked 3 rooms including a quadruple room and it was only a double bed in the quadruple room when we arrived. The owners where not there and the lady in charge was completely out of her depth. Since only one key is provided per room and the propriety closed, one of us asked for an extra key to go in the city and back, after talking with the owner on the phone, the owner proposed to used another room and in consequence another key. This room has been invoiced in the morning and this was not discussed/explained We had asked for a price breakfast included since the breakfast is not included in the price... But the breakfast was not ready and has not been served the day of our departure It's a shame, this place can be really nice but we had no chance...
The city, the location of this hotel, the atmosphere...

GermanyNot designed for any form of self catering, however the host allowed us to use their fridges and were accommodating with our requests. The room was small for 3 people and luggage.
A great experience of living within the city walls of a small town. Loved the lounge area which was spacious, historic and comfortable, allowing break from the small room. The accommodation was on the town wall, and allowed you direct access to outside the town wall, and into the town through the front entrance. The host was pleasant and helpful when there.

United StatesWe had no complaints. Breakfast was simple but plenty to eat. While not a complaint, this property is nothing like a 21 century hotel. That’s why it was so cool.Parking is outside the walls around the ring road.
It was part of the wall around city built in the 1400’s! There was a internal nice courtyard we did not use due to weather. Coming down into lobby you have option to to exit to the outside world, or thru another door you are 800 years in the past as you walk the narrow streets. ( zero to very limited car traffic ). There were lively bars serving really good pincho’s. Walking around a town so old was really neat and a good glass of wine was easy to find. This area is in the Rioja region and there are many, many great wineries to visit.

Czech RepublicNothing which would not have been mentioned before here - the centre location might be at cost of being noisy in the evenings. However, we were given fan so it was possible to sleep even with closed window.
First and foremost the couple that runs this place. They were very welcoming, helpful and attentive. Furthermore, the location is great and it is possible to park nearby. Even though the breakfast might seem too simple at first it is actually really enjoyable.
