The hotel was fine but the big problem is that parking was not at the hotel. Booking.com needs to elaborate this on there web site. Plus parking is an extra cost.

Very good location lots to see and a nice walk to the Church at the top of the hill.

The paperthin walls, just one small chair and a small (one-person) table.

The hotel is well located, just at the main high street (I guess) in the town. From there, all the attractions can be easily reached within walking distance. Also, the shopping area is in an immediate proximity. The staff seems nice, the room itself is quite spacious, even though the walls are paperthin (an ordeal if you happen to get noisy neighbours).

    Nothing!

Very welcoming staff. The room was really spacious and great value. The location as well was very good and made it easy for sightseeing. We looked around for a place to eat in the evening, but come to find out the best place was the restaurant of the hotel. The food was fantastic with a big menu and good prices. A great stay!

On arrival, there is no area for parking when registering - slightly problematic when one doesn't know the area or local tolerance of 'abandoning' the car on the street in order to register.

Restaurant served typical Spanish cuisine and was reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Centrally placed. Car parking was reasonably priced.

avoid 1st floor rooms! at 5 am the dining room furniture gets endlessly moved about for cleaning and you hear everything! Probably on the higher floors you cannot hear this. My sister-in-law forgot her much loved sandals in her room. Despite repeated emails and telefone calls they will not forward these to us.

food was very good. Staff really nice. Central location. Parking close to hotel + free

Noisy football team of youngsters in hotel.

The main staff at the front desk was not very friendly and the few times when I tried to get his attention, he seemed to ignore my being there. However, there were other staff that were friendly and helpful.

The hotel was clean, organized, had everything I needed in the room, and was easy to check in and out. It also has an ideal location in the center of the city, making it easy to explore the surrounding area.

Unfortunately the bidet in the bathroom was leaking water when I tried to use it; probably a temporary failure.

After I had first been assigned a room on the top floor with only a roof window, I was given a very nice and spacious room with a balcony overlooking the street. Everything was spic-and-span with a good bed and a comfortable bathroom. The staff was courteous and helpful and the food in the restaurant - both breakfast and lunch - was excellent, all of it at a very competitive price.

Located in a very busy part of the city, great for shopping & sightseeing, so parking outside, even to book in, is not possible. I arrived late afternoon and the centre was busy with shoppers and cars so, not having reserved a space with the hotel, I parked in the first car park I came across near the hotel which cost me 16€ overnight. A lesson learned when staying in a city centre hotel !! The small reception was next to the bar, very busy and very popular with locals, especially in the morning. My welcome was rather rushed due to the number of people in the bar but was dealt with efficiently. It’s not a modern hotel by any means but my room was fine, albeit that it was at the rear and looked out into a drab service area containing ducting, cables and a ladder. There was no disturbance overnight though, even from the pensionistas coach party who had retired early and consequently rose early. I had a really good and inexpensive three-course dinner including a media jarra de tinto in the rather outdated hotel dining room served by a friendly and accommodating waiter who was there to serve my tostada & coffee in the bar the next morning and then check me out after my stroll around the city. Absolutely nothing to complain about here and great value for money in all respects.

This hotel was AWFUL. Do not expect to get any sleep here! The rooms are uncomfortable, dark ( one room had no window at all and the other looked at a wall ) the AC/fan didn't work in one of the rooms. From 1am until 6 am there was a constant stream of people checking in. For check in people had to bang loudly on the front door for it to be opened, then the voices and banging of hotel room doors travels round the hotel. I was on the 1st floor and my friend in the top floor and it was loud in both rooms. I am not exaggerating when I say we had NO sleep whatsoever. People seemed to be coming in every 20 mins or so ! This was the worst hotel for noise I have ever stayed in. Absolutely terrible - would not recommend to anyone !

    It was clean but ugly

Sometimes it was difficult to find help in the hotel, since the staff also work in the bar. The noise from the bar comes up the staircase, and you can also hear the other rooms easily.

Not a personal experience, but a warning: looking at the floor plan, it looks as if some rooms only have a "window" into an air shaft. If you get one of those rooms you might be less happy about the stay than we were...

Comfortable beds, clean room and bathroom. Basic, but offers all you need on a short stay. Very helpful staff. Great bar for a drink and tapas. It's a 2-star property, but it is better than lots of 3-stars that I have stayed at.

Parking on the streets nearby virtually impossible. The air conditioner was not very effective however long you let it run. The view was internal and very dirty.

The rooms could use some upgrading and an elevator less than a hundred years old would be nice but these are minor problems in a place like Antequera. The Castillo is not the Ritz but it is clean, friendly, and very much Andalusian. .

The bar and restaurant are great and seem to be frequented by locals which is great fun. The location, on the main street between the bull ring and an important plaza is perfect. You can walk to anything, and in most cases, you'll have to.

It's like trying to sleep right in the middle of the street. By day you get the bar under your room with people yelling continuously. By night you'll get every detail of the noise from the street that is small but with enough traffic to get a 100db engine into your room every 15 minutes at 2am (I've measured this). You'll get WiFi access but without Internet connection. Seriously. Booking should create some kind of 'eject' button for this kind of trap establishments.
