Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaSmokers allowed everywhere to smoke on balconies, near entrances etc. so the place reeks of smoke. Should at least ban smoking on balconies as it goes into other people’s rooms.
Central, good food, good rooms. Super friendly staff. Very welcoming. Rooms were tidy.

SlovakiaI don't like heights, and the look from balcony on 8th floor made me a bit sick. The street below is rather busy and noisy. A room for 3 persons is narrow, it's a bit hard to walk so close to bed.
This hotel is in a busy part of the city, with various attractions nearby. Hotel restaurant for breakfast at floor -1 is large and nice and amount of offered for is satisfying.

SpainOur room faced one of the main streets and at 6.30 loud noises started which was pretty annoying, but it's in the midst of the city so.
The breakfast was ok. The coffee wasn't really good. The room wasn't superbly clean but it was acceptable and the bathroom was nice!

United KingdomThere are three lifts in the hotel but one was out of order for the duration of our stay. Given the large number of floors and therefore people staying in the hotel, having one lift out of order did mean some long waits at busy times. There weren't enough hangers in the wardrobe - only five or so for two people. We got by. Possibly we could have been given more if we asked at Reception. The rooms haven't been modernised in some time which I don't mind aesthetically but it was frustrating to have such a limited number of power sockets. I was able to charge my phone overnight on my bedside table but my partner was not. The Wi-Fi only worked in the communal areas of the hotel and even then performance wasn't consistent. I had to pay for mobile data by the day which was an extra unexpected cost to the holiday. As an inevitable downside of staying in a central location, there was quite a lot of street noise, deliveries and so on early in the mornings. There was no pure juice at breakfast, only some "juice drinks", which were rather unpalatable.
When booking I put in a request for a room in a quiet area of the hotel. We were given a room on the 8th floor, putting us well away from the evening entertainment, and near the end of the corridor, well away from the lifts. This was much appreciated. Our standard room had a balcony with a lovely view of the sea and the Lago Martianez complex. The room was very clean and contained a kettle, fridge, powerful hairdryer, and a shower that was a lot more powerful than it looked like it was going to be! When we arrived the bathroom door was very creaky and we found this disruptive at night when one of us wanted to use the toilet without waking the other. We reported this at Reception and the issue was fixed the same day. There was a wide range of foods available at breakfast. The location was excellent for easy access to the Lago Martianez complex and only a short walk from the old town area where we liked to go for dinner in the evenings.

Czech RepublicThe hotel was a standard large resort hotel, with all that comes with such. The food was a bit tasteless.
We had a superior room, which was on the higher floors so the view and facilities were fine. Good size balcony, nice big windows. Did not see a standard room. All staff members were very pleasant.

FranceThe hotel Wi-Fi was a joke. The staff was not kind at all. The operation of the room refrigerator was like a microwave. The pool was completely shaded and small. We had a small soap only 2 times in 14 days for 3 people. The shampoo was mounted on the wall and ran out soon, we had to ask to charge the shampoo. The elevators were slow and we always waited a long time in time of breakfast and diner. I have experienced all kinds of hotels, this hotel is about 3 stars. But considering the price and location, it is suitable. the safe is not free and you have to pay 3 euros a day to charge it.
We was there for 2 weeks.the location was great.the food at the restaurant was varied andcof good quality.and the rooms was clean.

GermanyUnfortunately, the photos do not correspond to reality. I booked a premium room with an ocean view, but ended up with a completely different view than I expected. The lady at the reception said she couldn't see any difference between the two photos and added with a smile that I could complain to Booking.com as much as I wanted. Very unpleasant experience. I don't understand why you would display photos of a room that doesn't match the one you offer.

Ukraine1) almost everything in Spanish and 10% in English. Staff doesn't know English. The only person who knows it is a reception guy. 98 percent of guests are also Spanish of age 55+. So if you travel alone and your goal is to meet some new young people to hang out together - you will fail :). But still the best place for family trip or if you have no plans to meet new people. 2) Big parking problem at entire island. Hotel has it's own paid parking, but it was full all the time, so we parked our car 15 min walk from the hotel. 3) sometimes you have no chance to go to the pool, because all sun loungers are busy :) 4) no free Wi-fi. But we bougth a local sim card for 10 euro and were happy with 20Gb of Internet :) 5) The pool was completely shaded half of the day 6) restaurant is in the basement floor
We like that place! Food is perfect: shrimps, red fish, a lot of meat, fruits and vegetables! We prepaid HB meal (2 meals a day), and it was perfect idea, we didn't need 3rd meal at all because we feel full all the time. Meal is delicious! So it saved our money, because we did not spend money for food in other restaurants, we just ordered cocktails and that's it. Hotel in the 2nd line, but you still able to see the ocean. Huge balcony with table and 2 chairs. Nice pool on the 1st floor. Good price for coffee on the bar. The supermarket next door to the hotel, so we bought water with cheap price. We had everything that we need! Beach is full of rocks, however you still able to find sand, warm water and small amount of people on the beach! 3min walk to the center street. Reception guy is really helpful! Nice room cleaning. Be ready that no sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach. Because every beach is municipal beach. If you want such a stuff you should visit something like "beach club". It's 5 min walk from the hotel. But that place is full of people all the time and has no access to ocean. Hotel is 1h ride by car from the airport. In resume it's a perfect place for family time!

SpainI didn't like the comments I read about the property from people who stayed at this hotel and criticized is so unfairly. The hotel is a four star hotel and it is up to standard. If people imagine what a 4 star hotel is and decide to leave unfair comments this is so unfair and misleading. Due to the comments I read I was nearly going to discard this hotel. Thanks God I didn't and will surely go back in the near future. It is unfair to the employees of the hotel, to the owner that took the chance of investing his own money to boost the economy of the country, to the Canary Islands since it damages the reputation of these lovely islands. It is irresponsible and stupid to place such incorrect comments and hope bookings.com could look into this and remove incorrect comments. If the place is outdated to some of the commenters it reflects the lower price you are paying and it do not reflect the 4 star standards. Just look for expensive Hotels, pay and you will have what you are looking for. If you do not afford a luxury 4 star hotel don't bother who is offering you a 4 star standard at a low price. Consider that you have been given the opportunity for your low budget.
I liked the place, the área and the personnel. We have been treated very well and the place was up to standard to our expectation.
