There were cockroaches in our room and in the toilets of the restaurant on the ground floor. When we told the staff they simply said that they come in from the street and there is nothing they can do. Not a very good response.

Very interesting historic building in a great central location.

Bed seemed to have belonged to the nun who was last in the convent. Bed mattress was very hard with only a sheet and thin blanket for comfort. No duvet. Shower (if you can call it that) was circa 1970's - only a trickle of water no spray. Room had no view. breakfast was not included. Nowhere to relax. Advertising for this hotel is very deceptive.

Nothing to like, very disappointing. May as well stay at a hostal.

internet could be better in rooms

An extraordinary hotel: a rare opportunity to experience a precious 18th century convent space as a guest. Very sacred "sense" to the building, beautiful restored stairwells, beamed ceilings, ancient frescos, and mystical stone walls. There is a heavenly scent of cleanliness to the hotel, like a church. The staff is more than excellent. Such kind and loving people, in keeping with the spirit of the place. Very welcoming and calm. I hope to return!

    Friendly staff.

Bathroom is very small & basic but to be expected in a convent. The breakfast arrangement was “order from a limited menu at the bar” but ok.

The staff were very welcoming & helpful throughout our stay. They were delighted that I could talk in Spanish & were patient! The location was very good.

We were at this hotel in the off-season. The desk attendants also worked in the restaurant and there seemed to be confusion about our booking at arrival and departure. We left without a warm-fuzzy feeling.

This hotel is centrally located. Our room was super quiet and the bed was comfortable.

Well situated at the foot of the old town, you get a real sense of history from the convent and the beautiful town of Vejer. Rooms are basic but comfortable and the staff were really helpful. Breakfast is basic but good and excellent value. We really liked it.

The air con didn't work properly in our room so it was hot and stuffy at night. They booked a wedding in the hotel during the weekend of our stay, which went on until 3am and was so noisy we struggled to sleep. One afternoon (whilst we were getting ready to go to our friend's wedding) the boiler broke and there was no water throughout the whole hotel. Staff didn't care and were generally quite rude. Would not recommend. Much better hotels in Vejer offering much better value for money.

What better place to explore the beautiful town of Vejer de la Frontera than to stay in what was a beautiful convent!? Excellent and convenient location, service and food.

Bathrooms are tight and very dated and the shower went from hot to cold quite sporadically. Would be nice if they matched the quality of the rooms.

Rooms were quiet and basic but with some nice architectural character. The beds were comfy and we both slept well. Location is great and good for easy access to the town.

Some rooms lack a little bit of light but as it is a former monastery one understands why as the rooms where just for sleeping and praying.

A remarkable environment. The former monastery is dignified, respectful and has all the necessary ingredients to spend a memorable Semana Santa in Vejer. Bravo!

Very limited breakfast (bread and marmelade and coffee), hard to communicate if you don't speak spanish, wi fi only in reception. A fridge would be useful.

Very central location - sometimes noisy.

the toilet would not flush at all - no water inside cystern. it was obviously known as there were pieces of plumbing left on the floor. we were offered a change of rooms but the last two rooms left were very dark and claustophibic as they were tucked far away at the back - most uninviting. so we declined. it was just annoying that it was a problem already known to them but nothing had been done before our arrival. we were offered a very small discount, but it was not afterall the money that mattered. breakfast was poor. the fruit juice was extremely bitter, packet spread of pork fat, pork pate, tomato and jam. not interesting and not good quality. I had wanted to stay here for some years and was sadly dissapointed.

    location was very good.

Kindly and welcoming staff in the reception and bar areas. The hotel is located in a square off the main road to the village, an excellent spot from which to walk and explore the village, its charming medieval alleys, cobbled streets, restaurants, shops and bars.

Hotel was located in a typical "white village" that is definitely off the main tourist track. It has all the charms of the other villages but is less crowded.
