Obviously, the Hotel was seriously under-staffed. 2 persons were serving the full Restaurant, helping in the kitchen and also being responsible for check-in, all in parallel. Food for dinner was average, Service very slow. Everybody had to wait for a long time. Breakfast Food again average, very slow refill of Juice, butter etc.

$$$$ expensive, no lake view, no Wi-Fi, and a shower you have to bend over to wash hair. Bed uncomfortable. Patio opens to construction activities, no privacy. Restaurants a 20 minute drive away. On site restaurant was decent bistro typo food.

The quality of the breakfast is a joke - horrible coffee, no eggs, a variety I would expect in a two star hotel maybe - definitely not a four star place. The rooms are ridiculously clairaudiant - we heard the footsteps, the use of showers and toilets from several rooms next and on top of us. The Spa is not included in the price, has to be booked a day in advance. It is nice, but it was COLD, and the service did not even include a bathrobe (we were quit cold trying to make do with one towel each).

The view is nice and the rooms are comfy and spacious. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was disappointingly basic and loveless, not befitting the hotel's four star pretenses. Here Cortijo Salinas has serious upside potential. If they would get breakfast right one day (say comparable to that at the nearby Fuerte Grazalema) we would come here several times a year. Now we felt the one day was enough.

Wonderful lake and mountain views from room on the west side with veranda (worth the extra charge) and from front part of the dining room.

This hotel is in a wonderful location for exploring the white cities near Grazalema Park. One half of the hotel is a renovated farmhouse, where there is a nice guest room to sit by the fire and have a glass of wine or play a board game. The other half of the hotel, where our room was located, is newly built and modern. The staff is exceptionally friendly. We enjoyed our stay immensely. We will definitely be returning for a longer trip to go hiking.

The food was unremarkable. They were very pedantic about reserving in the restaurant, even though we we staying at the hotel. They made two fellow guests, (repeat customers staying for several days), wait until everybody else had finished their evening meal before they would take their order because they hadn't reserved! This may have been a strange one-off - other reviews compliment the staff - but it would put me off ever going back. The wifi was unusable throughout the hotel.

Large, clean rooms. Ample free parking. Peaceful, if remote, setting. On-site restaurant, (only because nothing else in the immediate area).

There was a water shortage when we visited and the swimming pool was not full. But we could still enjoy a dip - important for the kids in the heat. The need for water conservation was well explained too.

If you are looking for a relaxing break, the Cortijo Salinas is perfect; it is situated in a great location from where you can visit the surrounding towns and the Pantano de Zahara. The pool should really be towards the back of the building with the views over the lake, instead it is next to the car park. The room was nice, the buidling too, but the car park is very big with lots of cement and not much greenery, while the back of the hotel has all the views which can be enjoyed from the restaurant, but the it would have been nice to have a proper terrace here with loungers instead there are just little white stones everywhere and it seems one is not supposed to hang out there.

    - There are amazing views towards the back of the building of Lake Zahara, including eagles flying just overhead. - Staff were very friendly, particularly Diego made us feel very welcome, as well as the night manager (didn't catch his name). - Some surprisingly nice artworks on the walls. - The adjacent bullring was nice to see even though it is not really in use anymore.

There was an important lack of communication: we had booked using Booking.com. When we made the reservation in January, we advised the hotel (in the Booking.com facility) that we had a gift voucher from Wonderbox. Upon arrival we were informed that the hotel had not received the information and we were unable to make use of the voucher, unexpectedly paying full price.

This is a large comfortable hotel with delightful lake views and well located for driving to Ronda, Grazalema and Zahara. Our stay was mid-week out of season and there were only three residents (but it was due to be full the following weekend) so the dining room was not warm and the breakfast did not really meet expectations. However the bedroom was very comfortable and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

I booked this location especially for the swimming pool and spa facilities. My understanding was that there was a heated swimming pool all year around. (Important when travelling in December) There was only a non heated pool. The SPA was not included but on top of that, when I wanted to use it I was told it would not be switched on for one person. So unfortunately NO SPA for me and NO heated SWIMMING pool for my daughter. Dissappointing as that was the main reason of booking!

Restaurant was nice, location is good to move around Sierra de Grazalema. You will need transport if staying here.

    Nothing - we loved it!

Amazing location, unusual hotel with large comfortable rooms, great swimming pool. Food simple but tasty.

Possibly the food was a little disappointing compared with other places we had been. Quite hard to find! Coming from Ronda on the A374, go past the turning off on the right to Montecorto and take the next left towards Zahara. Then take the next left again and you will see the Hotel drive entrance on the left winding up the hill.

This Hotel must have one of the best views in Spain, overlooking a lovely lake surrounded by mountains. All the public areas are beautifully fitted out and the gardens are charming. It even has its own Chapel! The staff went out of their way to help us when our Ferry home was cancelled the night we stayed there, and the Receptionist negotiated a suitable alternative for us and printed out all the documents. We would love to go back. Its an ideal alternative from staying in Ronda.

The hotel may be rated a 4 star but it more of a country inn. The room was very tired. Bed was worn out, only one pillow and two thin blankets. The shower was very weak and the lock onto the terrace was broken. The terrace could be accessed from the neighbouring one without difficulty.

The staff were really friendly and the location is beautiful and very central if you want to to visit the area. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

The restaurant and bar can only be described as sad and not at all in keeping with the rest of the hotel. Avoid dinner there if you can. Breakfast buffet exceedingly boring-included the standard of meats, cheeses, pastries etc that you expect from a below average hotel not the **** stars proudly displayed at the hotel entrance.

Stunning views of the Zahara de la Sierra valley. Tranquil and isolated location. Stayed in double room with terrace- very large and modern having recently been decorated.
