The hotel was a little far from the bus station (30-minute walk). If you're traveling with luggage, taking the public transportation would be highly recommended.

The hotel was luxuriously decorated. The hotel was very near to the old town and the museums.

It was too hot in the room at night, so the heater needed to be turned off during the day. The glass bathroom doors did not allow much privacy because of the thinness of the glass. Better to have a wooden door for the bathroom. Wish there had been an elevator. Difficult to carry all our bags up 2 flights of stairs at our age of 62.

The bed was very comfortable and the shower was easy to use with lots of warm water! It was quiet and peaceful. Being able to leave our bags there for the day was a bonus! Thank you!

There is no elevator so if you have bulky luggage on a top floor it would be a hassle. A fridge would be nice although things were stored in the balcony with outside temperature. More bathroom amenities will also be appreciated. Need further soundproof in the building.

Perfect location right next to the train station, located at the city center, close to supermarkets and shops. Spacious double room with a nicely decorated balcony, bright and comfortable. Sufficient heating, perfect room temperature. Strong shower with hot enough water.

    No gripes, given the price.

A cosy, small hotel in a pedestrian precinct (so no traffic noise) a few yards from both the main square and the train station. Eccentric decor - but nothing wrong with that. The balcony with stained glass windows was a novelty, as was the brass wheel control for the radiator. No breakfast but you have 2 cafes within 25m, so no problem there. Very good value, especially in such a smart city as Vitoria.

We loved our stay in this cute and kitschy (and gold! And ornate! Did I mention gold?!) place. Great location for us, staff was terrific and helpful, I truly wish we had stayed longer in Vitoria and at Dato. We sprung for the little balcony- so fun at night all lit up (and while enjoying a nightcap)! We initially had some concerns about street noise given we were there for the Real Madrid vs Alaves game and the Renaissance fair going on- turned out to be a non-issue. Slept like babies, uninterrupted, with windows open. Great cafes/pubs nearby, and easy walking distance to even more in old town. Easy walking to train and metro too.

Hotel Dato is located within easy walking distance of the train station in Vitoria. The hotel is decorated in an ornate Art Deco/Art Noveau style and contains an extensive collection of antiques from those periods. The rooms are nothing special, but adequate for a one or two night stay. Hotel Dato is probably your best option if you have an early train ride out of Vitoria.

The shower was over the bath and was an art to use without it spraying everywhere. The bathroom definitely needed updating and the type of shower was unacceptable. No lift, the stair lift wasn't working so not good if your mobility is restricted. Car park is quite a walk away and 12 euros for 24 hours, we couldn't find any street parking available. Hotel is in a pedestrian zone so hard to find in a car.

Friendly, helpful staff and a good nights sleep. Central, so only a short walk to the old part.

The decor was a bit naff (UK readers think of Noel's House Party). I can never understand why they have half-sized baths in Spain (you'd struggle to bathe a hobbit in it!) and why they don't have a plug (I had to ask for one).

Good location five minutes' walk from the railway station and very close to the town centre. The room was only €38 for the night which is great value for money for a decent en-suite room which was pretty comfortable and clean.

Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't have an elevator, although the stairs are not very high. Sometimes I could hear a noise from the pipes (some inner communications I guess) but all the rest was fine.

Hotel Dato was a fun place to spend a night in Vitoria-Gasteiz. The room: For arty and quirky read small and stuffy. Very hot weather and no aircon and leaving the window open only increased the noise level. The location is in a pedestrian area and access by motorcycles with luggage proved difficult. Parking was afforded about 300 yards away but locating the hotel on bikes with a satnav took an hour. Not funny in 39oC.
