We have breakfast included, but the quality wasn't great (bread tasted old and the fruit offering was really small). Don't pay for parking, there is a free parking right outside the hotel. Bring your own towels, because they charge you for the towels next to the pool.

We got a very spacious suite for 6 people, with three rooms and three bathrooms. The views from the eating area are really great. The hotel is located a little bit south of the center of Aguilas, but the walk from the hotel to the main square is nice.

We found the Staff at the hotel coldly efficient. Their Knowledge of " What's Happening" seems very limited , We enquired about Villaricos Mercado, and were sent to the local one , they said it was on on a Saturday but the Villaricos Market is a Sunday Event . We missed the Warmth of Laeticia from the previous year. Gargoyles are no fun !

This was our second time to stay in the Puerto Montiel . Our bedroom was well positioned with excellent views. Nothing had changed at the Breakfast room , and the choices were boringly the same every morning for two weeks. There was an excellent Pizza Restaurant North of the hotel close to the road entrance, which serves excellent food in a friendly environment and it is excellent value , The Gentle Giant Antonio will take your order and shows a genuine interest in your enjoyment of the meal. We must have eaten there five times in the two weeks. The walk into the Centre of the Town along the promenade is a pleasant one and no one seems to do anything in a hurry along the route. Bike rental is available for 12 Euro a day . There is a Delhi Tandoori Restaurant at the furthest distance from the Hotel and the standard is exceedingly high. The Red Bus provides a hourly shuttle service to the town , every hour on the Hour , it will return you to the hotel from a convenient bus stop just down from the Plaza Square , across from the Taxi Rank and Estanco Shed , fifteen minutes before the Hour. Aquilas is a resort that the Spanish seem to keep for themselves , not many English or Irish seem to have found it yet. The AP ---7 A tolled motorway will get you from St Javier airport to Aguilas in under an hour, you will have the motorway to yourself ,, people don't seem to want to pay for the comfort of a straight road , they prefer to driver over the Sierras with their sheer drops and overcrowded roads.

View was of the motorway, needs a bit of an update for the price they charge, 2 members of staff are a little too controlling, you have to buy swimming caps to go in pool but when we went in 2 men were swimming without them but we were told we would have to buy them at 3 euro each if we wanted to enter the area, rooms are looking a bit tired and need an update.

Reception staff were quick and dealt with customers well, built in radio and speakers in bathroom and bedroom, overall grounds and hotel were clean and nice, buffet breakfast was a bit hit and miss but plenty of choice.

Basically, a package tour hotel. Dining was basic buffet in a room with hideous cold light lighting and with no access to the (very nice) terrace. We carried our breakfast from the canteen to eat on the terrace, but were told we had to go back inside. Super frustrating rule that made me feel I was in a holiday camp. Plus, in early October, it felt a bit saga-ish.

Great location at the end of a sandy beach. Ten minutes pleasant walk along promenade to town centre.

There was nothing about this Hotel we did not like , the staff were friendly and helpful , the Breakfast provided excellent choice , if not too predictable , the room was spacious with a spectacular view of the Castle and the Mediterranean. The sporting facilities were first class . Although the room was nice 308 we had the worst view we have ever had this stay. Overlooking the road and only being on the third floor meant the flats opposite blocked our view. Next time we will ask to be on the top floor facing towards the castle.

We have been to this hotel many times and always enjoy our stay. This was the first time we had booked a suite and the extra space was really nice. Restaurant food is really good. We have not tried the evening buffet so cannot comment on that.

Nowhere to sit in the bedroom, if you wanted to go back to your room you had to sit on the bed or lie down. My fault I didn't notice that there were no balconies. My constant beef about Spanish hotels that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, we took our own so managed but it's something that more and more Southern European hotels are beginning to do and as a 4* this should have been available. Very hard beds, glad to get home to my own. That's a common fault with hotels. The bedroom decor was "drab" to say the least.

Staff were pleasant and efficient, in fact the whole hotel was run very efficiently.

No real dislikes... only niggles really but enough to keep it from a 10/10...There have been some comments that the bed was over firm - I did not check but it looks like a memory foam mattress that softens to the body heat - over all a comfortable night. The spa bath nice but possibly needs the jets cleaning properly (trapped hairs). Some decoration a little tired...some warmer lighting rather than the cold light LEDs - really minor though... this is a great hotel - see for yourselves!!

This is a great location, very good facility, great food, great staff (especially Rafael in the bar), outstanding sea views from the suite. The premium suite was huge with all the facilities for an 'apartment stay'. The adjacent areas offers numerous sea front grills and cafe's if you want to venture further for a variation on the food. The local shops are interesting and varied...all only minutes walk away. The hotel itself has a very nice outdoor pool and sun lounging area and an indoor pool that looked good but we didn't use... all in all a highly recommended establishment - will be visiting again when next in the area.

No brochure in bedroom providing practical information about the hotel or local area. Poor choice of food at breakfast and evening meal offering little variety. Food quality was not appealing for a 4-star hotel. There was no wi-fi in bedrooms, only in public areas. For a recently built hotel this is a significant omission. The room we occupied was spacious but furnished sparsely. Furniture such as drawer space was distinctly lacking. Lighting in the room was inadequate for reading. Noise from wedding parties usually at weekends was an unwelcome intrusion.

Good sea views from most bedrooms, but this was to be expected given its location at a marina. Easy access to the promenade leading into Aguilas, despite a lengthy walk. With a car one could get to neighbouring places along the coast, as long as you take the by-pass road to the west to avoid congestion in the narrow streets in the town centre.

The beds were very hard, compared to what we're used to. The rooms a bit dated also.

The breakfast buffet was excellent. The hotel is right on the beach with beautiful views, but has no balconies. The pool was also very nice.
