Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Everything was immaculate and the staff friendly. Super comfortable apartment. I would suggest that hooks in the bathroom would have been helpful. All in all a great stay for a family of 3.

Only one minor thing, I didn’t receive the check in information before we arrived at the building. Messaged them in booking.com one day before. Spent a while standing outside of the building to call the contact numbers, till the front desk stepped out to open the door.
Location, room layout, and facilities. The room and beds are very comfortable.

No real criticism
Spacious, clean apartment. Beds comfortable. Useful having the mini-kitchen area. We had a good size balcony where you could catch the morning sun for breakfast. A decent location - especially if you need to use the main rail station. A great alternatve to the more pricey hotels. I would consider using again - although in Madrid you are spoilt for choice.

The heater was a little awkward to manage. I would turn it on and then it has an automatic shut off so it would turn off but I would still be chilly.
The proximity to the Atocha train station was very close to walk. If you have a heavy bag or lots to carry, then a cab is only a couple of euros. One of the best deals for a full apartment with kitchen. Everything was clean. I loved the balcony patio to have my morning coffee. Great internet so I was able to connect with no problems for work. Wonderful shower. Check in and check out was smooth.

Small point, I wish we had another mirror somewhere in the apartment except the bathroom. It would have been great to be able to dry my hair or do my makeup whilst someone else used the bathroom!
Loved that we had our own personal parking included with the room! The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were excellent and very helpful.

A bit overpriced, missing some of the important stuff such as shampoo, shower gel, wifi was not so good also. For the price we payed its overrated.
Nice location close to Atocha station, a bit far if you go by foot, easy check in anytime, kind staff and clean.

There is construction directly across the street - noisy in the mornings - not anything that could be done by the property, but just something to be aware of if you are a light sleeper, you may want to see if there is a room away from the construction side of the building.
Location was very good, walking distance to many attractions, dining and shopping options, but off on a side street so quiet for evenings. Market just down the street for food and beverage. Walking distance to bus station and metro. Laundry in unit which was a great bonus.

The location is a little noisy at night, with restaurants on the streets below that stay open late. So if you want good restaurants nearby serving local cuisine, it is a great location. If you want silence at night, not so good.
Great location to explore Lisbon from. In the midst of the main historical core of the city. Very spacious! The unit itself had skylight windows opening on the sides and a couple of small balconies on the street side so light and air in the unit was lovely. Air conditioner and heating worked well and was easy to use. Small kitchenette was sufficient for snacks and hot beverages. Friendly and helpful staff, most with good english. Unit was cleaned and fresh towels provided daily.

The checkout is too early! Since we are talking about apartments and the size of them, for 5 people it forces us to wake up earlier.
