Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe pillows could have been fluffier and I would suggest two per person because many prop up in bed to read and might sleep with two pillows. Tricky to get to this perfect location in the middle of a pedestrian zone. It’s where you want to be but you’ll be dragging your luggage a distance to get there. There are parking tricks if you brought a car so call well ahead of arrival for suggestions.
The building is beautifully redone stone with wood accents and modern cush bathrooms. The style fits perfectly for the medieval walled stone village with narrow pedestrian walkways and staircases for streets, a stones throw from the towns huge Gothic church. Breakfast buffet was delicious and wonderfully presented.

United Kingdom- The reception isn't 24-hour so sometimes you have to phone if you need help, so it felt more like staying in someone's house, rather than in a hotel. - There didn't seem to be a proper breakfast room, and breakfast wasn't included in the rate, but it wasn't a problem as there are plenty of cafes in town.
- The location was excellent - right in the middle of this medieval city - The bed was a four-poster - very romantic! - and it was very comfortable - Bottled water was provided in the rooms - The owner was very helpful when we arrived, and pointed out the main attractions and restaurants.

United States of AmericaThere is nothing that we didn't like about the hotel but be aware that the old town of Girona is situated on a steep hillside and is made up of narrow cobbled streets and steps so if mobility is a factor then the location may not suit though the hotel is accessible by car.
A fabulous, family run hotel in the heart of the old and very beautiful city of Girona. The original building has been tastefully refurbished whilst retaining much of the original architecture within both the hotel and the rooms. We stayed there on 2 separate occasions during our trip and on both occasions the rooms were of a very high standard. Buffet breakfast is served in the morning with a wide range of items to choose from. The owners are very attentive to your needs, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our luggage was lost by our airline and was due to be delivered to the hotel just after we checked out to go on a 4 day cycling trip. The owners said not to worry, they would receive our luggage, put it away somewhere safe and it would be there for us when we returned. Girona itself is a very popular cycling destination and if you are thinking of bringing a bike or renting one not to worry, the Historic has a safe place where you can store them when you are not out cycling. Also if you're fan of Game of Thrones the hotel is a stones throw away from many of the major filming locations. We stayed in 8 different hotels on this trip through Spain and the Historic was our favorite, we would definitely visit again.

United States of AmericaWe only stayed one day and sorely regretted it. One night in this town was not enough for us. Wish we had stayed 2-3 nights here at least. Lots to see and do. Kind locals, good food, beautiful sights.
We absolutely adored the family that owns/runs this incredible hotel. They were so warm and welcoming, especially their daughter who was kveryind and helpful! Our taxi dropped us at the bottom of the hill due to a race/concert that was happening on the way to the hotel and we wound up through the tight cobblestone streets and hiked up to find this little gem. My husband and I were fine with our backpacks but our friends who had suitecases with tiny wheels sturggled a bit. We loved the craftmanship of this family-run little hotel. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

LatviaIt is the small family type hotel. It is located in the heart of the old town of Girona. All the historical sights are near by. The hotel is very beautiful! The room we had was in authentic style with wooden carved furniture and stylish and modern bathroom. There is a small, but very beautiful terrace on the roof of the hotel with the view of the Girona cathedral. Good breakfast: not a lot choice, but enough for a good breakfast. Products were fresh and delicious. 100% recommended. With pleasure we will visit this hotel again.

United KingdomNot really a problem, just be aware you have to park outside the old city as the cobbled streets are so narrow - 5 minute walk. (The advantage of that is it's very quiet at night!).
Lovely location, behind the cathedral in the old part of Girona. Full of character and atmosphere with its old stone walls, but sympathetically restored and is now a very comfortable hotel. We had the top room, huge, with views over Girona to the Pyrenees and easy access to the roof terrace with views of the cathedral.

United KingdomThis property is one of very few remaining (2 I believe) family owned and run hotels in Girona, and it really shows The team from before check in through to the breakfast and check out were delightful to deal with and they really looked after us The hotel has been undergoing extensive restoration and refurbishment works that has been carried out to exceptional standards and the use of highest quality materials and fitments throughout ensures a truly luxury experience The location is just perfect for a trip to Girona !! PS I stayed recently too at the sister property "Casa Cundara" (owned and run by the same family), this is a much simpler property but again perfectly located and utterly charming
