A little bit noisy due to thin walls

A super friendly host. My sister lost her earphones and the host helped us for more than half an hour so we finally found them. A clean an well equipped and organized communal kitchen.

It's hard to pinpoint what I didn't like about my stay at Hostal Alogar, because, to be honest, I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it. From the impeccable cleanliness to the cozy ambiance, spacious bathrooms, and the diligent daily room service, everything was beyond my expectations. The staff's helpfulness and hospitality only added to the overall positive experience. If I had to note something, it would merely be the challenge of leaving such a welcoming environment behind. The staff is excellent, responsive. The room was nice; we had a private room with its own shower and toilet. The room was cleaned daily. The room itself was clean. The kitchen was also clean, with separate cupboards for dishes and refrigerators that belonged to each room. There's everything necessary for cooking.

Everything was great or even better.

Hostal Alogar completely fulfilled my expectations. Host, Diego, is a super nice and friendly person, helped us to arrive, sending information which bus to take and from where, he allowed us to use the room a little bit earlier than check-in. He did a welcome tour around the hostel to show us what is where, highlighted for us on the map, the best places to see in Barcelona, every time we saw him in the hostel he was super nice and friendly, great personality, the one which wins customers today. The rest was absolutely great as well, super clean room, cleaned every 1-2 days, without asking for it. Very well equipped kitchen, despite the fact, we ate in the city. Place has very good location, close to coffee & bakery, Lidl, bus station, neighborhood is also nice as safe.

Communal bathroom was clean and well appointed but... There seemed to be skylights in every room which would have offered some nice natural light but the blind appeared to be cable tied shut. I could be wrong, I did not want to chance it.

The location was great. The neighborhood is lovely loads of character, little cafes, bars etc. The staff were very helpful and kind The kitchen was a clean and convenient and a nice kind of communal point. For as much /little interaction as you want. USB charging by the bed is. A very thoughtful touch.

Not so close to public transportation, but it was ok to walk for a few minutes.

The place was good and clean. The region is not central, but is a very nice and calm, with some restaurants and stores nearby. The room didn't have a private bathroom (what I already knew), but it at least had a sink inside the room, what helps a lot.

It's not possible to control the heater inside the room. It was not so cold, so the temperature inside the room was too warm and it was not possible to change or turn off.

The location is great as long as you're comfortable walking or hopping on the excellent public transit. We walked to Sagrada Familia and various other sites -- a great way to get a sense of the city's vibe while delighting in Barcelona's architecture -- then, when tired, we caught an always-convenient bus or tram. Our host helped make all this easy.

In decades of international travel, I've never encountered a more hospitable establishment. The staff accommodated our odd arrival and departure times, acquainted us with the neighborhood and the city as a whole, told us about places to eat and places to visit, explained the transport system and gave us a map, everything. Staying here truly enriched our time in Barcelona! It may not be luxurious -- you share the bathrooms with other guests -- but it's spotlessly clean and quiet and safe, you have excellent kitchen privileges, and the helpfulness of the staff is unmatched. We would absolutely stay here again!

Not a criticism at all, but I would suggest selling earplugs at the hostal: the walls are very thin and so we could hear people in other rooms or corridors sometimes.

Perfect value for money, very friendly and helpful staff, clean (cleanest common kitchen I've ever seen in a hostel) great location.
