Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Our room was a bit smaller than it looked in the photos, and we really didn't like their blankets without bedsheets. If you have a room that does not a view, the little space in the middle of the building is what you see from the room, which is not nice and ventilation is not the best.
It's a really good accomodation if you just need a place to sleep after a long day in the city. Location is perfect, a lot sights are in walk distance, and 3mins from the metro. We had an early flight, and we could check-in at 11 a.m., we did not have to wait until 2 p.m. The staff is very nice, and we could leave our luggage there after check out as long as we had some time before we went to the airport

The property was in a great location called Las Ramblas. It was easy to find and get to using a cab but there is a Metro station nearby as well. The staffs were super helpful, the rooms were nice,clean and cozy. Value for money in my opinion.

would like to have one double bed instead of 2 singles pushed together
very clean and nice hotel! It was nice that we were provided with all the necessary supplies: a toothbrush and shampoos!

Beds are extremely uncomfortable. Felt like sleeping just on springs, the mattress was super worn out. Also, the property gets fully booked, so there is no way to stay even a minute longer after the check out time, we were made very clear of that :D
Location is the main perk. The bathroom is nice as well.

Window above restaurant. Not much air coming in. A bit loud and smelled like food.

No tea or coffee facility in room
Really good value for money considering it is a hostel. Staff were super friendly. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. Well worth the money. Would highly recommend.

Everything was ok.
I had no problem at my 3-day stay. Room was plain, good and clean. Central location. Most probably among the best price performance hotels in the area especially for single stays. For couples or families some other alternatives may be also examined. (for more features)

The toilet door is just a decoration. Double bed has only one blanket. I think it is not important to somebody, but me.

Not the desired privacy with the bathroom in the room. The door was just a glass panel.
Great location. It’s a basic hostal. If all you want is a place to sleep and a hot shower, this place will give you that along with being safe and clean.

No breakfast available and would have liked a kettle in the room, but it wasn’t really a problem because we found somewhere to go for breakfast not far from the hotel.
Central, everything in walking distance from Hostal Benidorm. Good value for money. We stayed in a small, but comfortable, quiet and clean room facing the courtyard. Surprise for us toiletries and toothbrush plus toothpaste in bathroom, we did bring our own, but didn’t expect it for a low budget hotel. Would definitely come back and recommend for a short stay.

Room's door was quite thin, you could hear the people talk walking by your room. You also could see the light coming in around the door. Bathroom's door was also very thin, not much privacy in there.
Room was bigger than we expected. Hostel's location is really good, everything important is close by, in walking distance. Room was clean, cleaning lady changed towels every day and made up the bed.
