Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The location is a bit far from stations. Around 15 minutes walk to airport coach station.
Quite street to stay. Always have people at reception. The room is great and clean.

Shower was very small but can’t complain too much as it’s a hostal so was just glad we had our own shower.
Central location close to the markets. Staff was very helpful and welcoming especially during difficult situation which was out of their control.

Excellent location right by the market. Super quiet and great air conditioning. Shared bathrooms were cleaned often. You can also order coffee from reception and they will bring it to your room.

Shower floor mat was used by everyone and wet.
The rooms are all beside each other on both sides of a corridor. They are small but fit for purpose and the addition of a sink in the room is very welcomed. Toilet and shower were always very clean. Friendly and polite staff. They did not speak English but that was not an issue with broken Spanish and smiles.

No complaints at all.
Finding a good place to stay in central Barcelona at a fair price is almost impossible. I was beyond impressed with the hotel. It was extremely clean and well organised. I felt safe and the staff were friendly. You cannot get a better location, right on the market and by a metro stop. A gem I will certainly return to.

Our bed was too short. There was prety quite but we can still hear noises from outside and neighbors (typically la ramba buildings which close to each other and has a narrow street )
The loction was GREAT 👍 it is in la RAMBA and easy to get anywhere on foot. All staf was so nice, polite and helpfull. We love our tiny balcony in the room, the best place to enjoy smal snack in the morning and evening.

The location is in Raval, which is not the safest place in Barcelona. Recommend not to arrive alone late at night and definitely watch your bag and phone when walking around.
The hostel is clean, bed cozy and the staff was very helpful and nice.

The walls are a bit thin so some nights the neighbors were a little loud.
The location was great, it's next to the main market and plenty of transportation options. The room was cozy, and I liked that the staff holds your room key for you to keep it safe. There's staff available 24/7.

It was a little noisy in the morning, the walls are a bit too thin to keep sound completely out.
The room itself was perfectly clean and adequate and good value compared to others in the area. Comfortable bed and lovely balcony. The location is outstanding and the staff were really friendly. However, it was after I checked out that they really showed how amazing they are. I left something of value in the room and they packaged it and sent it to me, without accepting any payment from me. They also communicated fantastically with me through that process and really displayed outstanding customer service. For that reason Hostal La Palmera will always be my first choice when staying in Barcelona.

There is no TV in rooms we don't care but if you want one there is none here. Otherwise everything is great
We have stayed here a lot. Great location and great staff. Very helpful and friendly and let us drop our bags. Rooms very modern and great. Location wonderful in middle of everything by the market
