Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The rooms were really small and everyone was upon each other, even the bathroom feel like when your in there not really much privacy
The location for where we wanted to be based for our holiday was perfect. The price was good as well. Place was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly.

A little updating on the place is needed (broken light fixtures, leaky showerheads) + can hear noise from hallway

Our stay at Hostal Marino really exceeded our expectations. The rooms were bright and super clean, with room service cleaning and towels changed every day. The staff is friendly and very helpful, and there is a small bar on the ground floor where you can have breakfast.

A bit more storage space is needed and a nightstand on both sides of the bed.
Location was good, just a short walk from the busy parts of San Antonio or the bus station. Late check in and early check out went very smooth. Breakfast was superb. Room was cleaned daily. The balcony is huge and the bed is comfortable.

Clean facilities - lovely staff who cleaned the rooms daily and replaced the towels etc. the food down stairs was delicious and the staff in the bar were very accommodating. They provided us with ice and cups when we needed. The pool in the sister hotel was great.

When I booked my room on the website, wasn’t t able to book my breakfast included for some reason.
The new work that has been done is amazing and up to a top standard! The staff were all super friendly to me and did a great job during my stay, especially upgrading by me to Hotel M for free. The buffet breakfast was delicious and equal to the cost.

one of the receptionists didn’t (want to?) speak English and pretended he wasn’t understanding the word ‘chamomile’ which is basically the same in Spanish but we sorted that in the end, so k I guess??
they upgraded our stay to the hotel and the building is new, so great value for the price. staff is friendly and breakfast is highly recommended (especially if you’re planning to spend the day at the beach) as there is plenty of food

A little difficult to find first time, due to one way system when driving. Daytime on street parking now charged, although free parking within a five minute walk.
Clean, spacious room, good choices of breakfast from the buffet including fresh fruit.

The room far exceeded what I expected for the price. The location is perfect and right in the heart of San Antonio, but also very quiet for when you need to get your head down. As I walked in I could smell it had recently cleaned (I booked the room last minute and arrived within around 30/45 mins) and was spotless! I booked a smoking room and therefore, had a private balcony. The room also had excellent air-conditioning, a fridge and tv. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were so lovely and couldn't do enough for you. I had breakfast in the morning and the food was delicious with a lot of choice. I was also staying as a single woman alone and felt very safe here. I will absolutely return here! Thank you to all the staff!

Since the moment we arrived, the elevator didn’t work at least 4 times in 6 days. We were on the 4th floor… Bedroom was as tiny as it gets and breakfast very poor and few options. The bed was extremely uncomfortable.
The location was ok, near many bars and restaurants and 20-30 minutes away from everything (by car)

They upgraded us to the M Hotel, was great. Everybody at front desk and pool bar/restaurant was so kind and helpful, couldn’t be better. Special thanks to housekeeping also.
