Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The rooms had no table or chair to put some stuff and the bathroom had no ventilation. It was easy to hear people from the other rooms through the door and walls.
Check-in was smooth and handled by a very friendly and helpful member of the staff! Fantastic place next to the city center, great to explore Salamanca.

It was quite noisy in the room due to street noise and very thin walls, you could hear everything from the neighboring rooms and the hallway.
Very good location in the city center. Communication with the staff was excellent, all the necessary information about the stay, check-in, and check-out was clearly provided. The room was clean and well-prepared. Bathroom in very good condition.

The room smelled bad. The window opened up to an enclosed ally area and made the room smell like sewer. I think maybe putting air fresheners in the rooms could be great. I wish the bathroom door was a sliding one, the space is so small it's difficult to move. Also the shower pressure was horrible.
Online check in was easy and the location is perfect. The room itself was clean and a spacious. The bed was comfortable and there was a fan since, there isn't any AC, I appreciated that.

We can hear the noise of the other rooms closing but other than that it was ok.
Near plaza Mayor so perfect to visit the city center. It was also easy to find parking nearby.

The wifi was down for almost half of my stay, however I recognise things like this are often out of staff’s control.
The Hostal is in an excellent location with only a short walk to points of interest and the bus station. The check in procedure was easy and staff were responsive through WhatsApp. The room was comfortable and clean. Staff were also accommodating when I asked if I could leave my bags behind upon check out.

Clean, good value for money, on the edge of the old historic town and not far from the coach station. There's no reception or staff in the building so you need to pre-check in online to get the electronic door pass code which is fiddly to operate at first. The call centre staff were super friendly and helpful though.

There could have been some appliances in the room such as a kettle or a small fridge/microwave and silverware.

The room and the facilities didn't have silverware, or kitchen appliances like a kettle or a microwave we could use. It seems that's only specific rooms have those and they were already booked. There was an extra charge of 10 euros per night because we were with our pet.
It was super clean and the beds were comfy. The shower worked well and was equiped with shampoo and soap. Super close to downtown which saved us the trouble of looking for transportation all the time. All iconic places in downtown were at walking distance. Plus, they are pet friendly!

There was a horrible sewage smell that came from the bathroom at all times. Besides, it wasn't the cleanest. There was something (a booger?) glued to the bathroom tile in the shower. Nasty.
Very good location, easy to park, comfortable bed and good heating in the room. The electronic check-in was seamless.

Not negative but tea and coffee facilities would be nice. Maybe a shower caddy would be helpful too.
Great place to stay, very close to the town centre. Very clean and comfortable. Instructions to get into the property were good. Great communication from the host.
