Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBackpackers are on a very different schedule to pilgrims but no one seemed to really object!
Bunks were comfortable and linen was provided. Female only dorm which was great. Mix of pilgrims and backpackers which made for a slightly different city experience

GermanySome things need maintenance attention - the shower plug was quite blocked in room 205 resulting in water spilling out onto the bathroom floor. My locker (10) was a little broken, the bathroom doors squeak, and the bunk beds squeak even more. There was no air conditioning or ventilator fans, which made the dorm rooms very hot. Be aware that due to the location (directly on one of the busiest/latest-running plazas in the city), earplugs are essential for anyone wanting to get a good night's sleep.
Very centrally located, with endless dining and drinking options nearby. Friendly and helpful staff, and some great facilities including the kitchen, patio and laundry room. I would stay here again.

United StatesNot enough bathrooms/showers for the price paid. A fan or two in each dorm would be nice, as it was uncomfortably hot and no air movement.
Location was great. Nice blanket included for those without a sleeping bag.

United StatesThe only ventilation for the room was to open the window to let cool air in the room. By doing that, all the noise from the bars and restaurants could be heard. We had to pick between being hot or noise.
Great location in the heart of the old city, practically next door to the Cathedral. Room was clean, staff was nice.

IrelandNo air-conditioning. If there was it would be a 10.
Location was good and clean considering the amount of people who stay . Staff work hard with the number of people staying on any one day but still friendly. . Down side rooms need air-conditioning as the room we had for 6 people was a sweat box so it had to be worse for bigger rooms .

AustraliaWe only had one toilet/shower to share in our room. Made it a bit tricky but there was another toilet/shower in the hall outside our room.
This is a good hostel, comfortable, clean and very central. It has good kitchen and laundry facilities, I stayed in a 10 bed all female dorm which was nice. It sits above a restaurant so very convenient.

PolandThe bathroom smelled quite bad (no proper ventilation). the kitchen seemed a bit chaotic, as there were too many things in the fridge (it was really full) and nothing to mark that it was yours or e.g. to share so I don't know how often they cleaned it and how they could tell, things didn't look marked. There was nowhere to sit in the room, the bed were very low, no chairs. Generally, not much space and it smelled a bit bad. They also asked to change the sheet yourself, which is not a problem, but usually the hostels I've been to, if not all, just did it themselves.
very central, not too noisy, nice staff, nice people, luckily it wasn't too crowded so I could have a good rest

United StatesNoise. No 'rules'......at all! No quiet hours, no lights out etc. We had roomies with lights still on after midnight. Window had to be closed because of outside noise - no a/c or fans so it was a sweat box.
Great location for Camino & partying. Good staff. Good bar & food downstairs. Excellent price.

South AfricaIt's so dirty and noisy. This place is a train station of people and beds. Dorm rooms and bathrooms can not keep up with the rotating door of people. Washing machine smells sour and is often used for hostel needs.

United KingdomReception is unmanned. You need to ask in the bar for check-in or anything else. None of the staff could muster a smile between them, and they are in dire need of some customer service training. There is no tourist information in the "reception" area, and no washing up liquid or cloths to clean up (as requested) in the kitchen.
