Our room had design elements a bit form over function. I had to be a bit of a contortionist to see in the mirror to shave. We were only there one night so never had time to fathom the fancy light switching.

Lovely gardens. "Interesting" conversion of an old convent. Certainly different from the usual hotels.

Nothing really , maybe lighting in rooms could be enhanced ?

Our second stay at this lovely hotel with a difference which is located just off the A67 motorway a convenient distance from Santander for anyone wishing only an hour or so drive to or from the port .The original buildings have undergone a very contemporary but sympathetic conversion which complements and does not detract from the beauty of the original buildings . Almost every visitor seems to take their cameras out to take photos ! Lovely garden for residents. Staff are very helpfully and friendly . The evening meal and breakfast deal at €25 great value. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed . We really rate this quite refreshingly different hotel and wouldn't hesitate to book again .

When we stayed the first time it was August and a bit hot so could have done with a fan in the room as there was no air-con obviously not needed most of the time.

The location is amazing and the rooms are very stylish. An oasis of peace in rural Spain.

Reception isn't 24 hours which caused a minor issue when we had to leave early morning to drive to France but all got sorted.

Lovely renovation to the building with a modern twist, loved it and wished we could have stayed a little longer. Unfortunately just passing through and arrived later than expected. Will sample the restaurant next time as there's not much in the town. Rustic location out of the way in the sticks. Beautiful gardens and surrounding, ideal location for weddings. Staff helpful.

When having dinner the waitress asked if we were staying at the hotel. She then told us of a deal that included dinner and breakfast for a lesser total price which meant breakfast cost only a few euros. And it was one of the better breakfasts we have experienced in Spain. Lovely peaceful setting and comfortable hotel.

Very slow service in the bar. We had to wait 20 minutes standing at the bar before being served as there was only one waiter. The bar was full with a wedding party who kept butting in when it was our turn with more orders for six or twelve coffees, glasses of water, drinks, etc. The waiter was very pleasant especially in the circumstances but overworked and I feel taken of advantage of by the hotel. He was seen rushing everywhere. Breakfasts poor.

Everything - we will be returning but hope that there will be more serving staff in the bar if there is a function on. One can walk for miles from the hotel along flat roads/paths. Glorious views. The hotel is an interior designers delight. The rooms stunning but very comfortable and with plenty of light.

Staying in a 12th century monastery has to be rather special. Modernised very sympathetically to 21st century standards makes it very comfortable. A bedroom with stone walls and a heavy timbered ceiling also makes it very quiet. A view from the bedroom window of a courtyard containing the original entrance to the monastery drives home that this is a very special hotel. The dining room served an excellent value and tasty dinner and breakfast.
