Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandWe had no hot water when we arrived and we had to ask twice before this was rectified. The WiFi situation is strange. You need a separate code for each device, and each one is written on a tiny slip of paper. Despite our best efforts we never managed to connect to WiFi. However, this was not a problem as we used mobile data instead. There wasn't a safe in our room so hiding our passports wasn't great.
A beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. The views are amazing, the gardens and terraces are pretty, comfortable and private. We stayed in a deluxe suite and loved the space, both indoor and on the lovely sunny terrace with sea views. Large bed, extra blankets, very soft bathrobes, and a smart TV. Some wonderful little coves right outside for swimming. The staff were friendly and professional. We had half board and although the dinner menu is quite limited, it encouraged us to try dishes we wouldn't usually. The quality of the food was excellent. This hotel was very quiet, which might not suit everyone, but we loved this as we wanted to switch off and relax. I believe we were the only guests who weren't German, but this was fine by us as we find Germans in general to be very respectful and pleasant. Our stay was very good value. The hotel is quirky and wonderful and we would definitely return.

United KingdomThe room's curtains and blinds were not very effective at keeping out the light do we rose every morning with the sun.. Breakfast could be improved as well.
Nice location close to two of the bays and beaches. I few nice swimming pools as well. Room was excellent with a huge veranda that was totally private and not overlooked at all.

CanadaI was really disappointed with the gym… as an active person I always pick a location that has some sort of facility. This hotel states that they did… unfortunately what was provided cannot be called any sort of gym. There was an old broken universal machine from what looked like the 1980s and three pieces of cardio equipment, which two were broken.
The staff was lovely and the resort was beautiful… there were almost zero children and the beaches nearby were not crowded. This hotel has a very intimate setting that was perfect for me and my partner.

AustraliaIt’s definitely not a 5 star hotel as advertised, more a 4 star. It’s old, and not kept well/overly clean. No mini bar and tea/coffee facilities in rooms. Old furniture and tv’s.

United KingdomThe reception staff were quite rude and unhelpful at times. When asking about taxis they didn’t seem to want to help us and weren’t clear with what was needed. On check out they took payment twice even though we showed them the payment had gone through on our side.
The location and setting of the hotel was beautiful. The breakfast was great and the lunch and dinner options were good too! The staff in the restaurants were really friendly and attentive. The pool was lovely. The rooms are dated (as many other reviews state) but they are comfy and clean.

IrelandThe location while fabulous is out from local facilities with the main town of Paguera a 20minute walk away. There are also a lot of steps on the property which may not suit some travellers such as elderly, families with buggies etc. The restaurant closes for food early at 21:15. Although we were offered a small grazing plate when we arrived late the first night.
Fabulous location and views from our balcony. Breakfast offered good selection to set you up for the day ahead. The restaurant was also lovely, we ate there twice during our stay and had the Paella both times! a treat! Rooms were spacious and pool areas were lovely, with 5 on offer we found we nearly had a pool to ourselves each day. Loads of little hideaways and terraces to enjoy some rest. Overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

United KingdomService was not brilliant. Our room was not fully made-up in the morning - cushions and throw were left on the floor, towels not hung up or replaced. Restaurant felt short-staffed The bed was too firm for us - we were glad to be moving on after 2 nights.
