The room was very outdated, we asked for a double bed and it was two single beds joined together, no soap on the bathroom. It was just a very outdated room

It is a great value, large hotel with lots of amenities.

The food was not wonderful, breakfast was very well laid out but the dinner buffet did not have many choices. An issue with administration where for some reason I had ended up with two one night bookings through booking.com with free cancellation. I was hoping that they would refund the additional booking and I communicated with helpful Booking.com about this, they said that this was down to the Hotel (effectively I was a few hours late to ‘cancel’). Unfortunately, the Hotel management would not do this, very petty I thought.

The property is superbly situated and its own ground and beautifully laid out. The interior is very spacious.

The indoor pool and gym were a little small, though lovely setting. The large outdoor pool would have been lovely, though it was stormy and somewhat cold

Location between the train station and the port was very convenient but was what was really special. Was the architecture and the sense of how this historical hotel would’ve fit-in during its heyday.

Evening meal was a very inexpensive 3 course menu. Disappointing. I would have paid more for better.

Lovely spacious room and terrace with portico. Comfortable bed. Great lounge and bar. Loved the period decor. Shady and varied outdoor spaces to relax. Breakfast was excellent.

Nothing really. Convenient stopover - a second night would be good.

Location: The building was amazing. Quite busy but enjoyable. Stayed <24 hours. Staff helpful with WiFi. Breakfast selection good. Convenient for frs ferry access. OK for rail station.

I asked for an iron and ironing board but was told at reception that the hotel could not accommodate this.

Excellent buffet breakfast. Beautiful setting and easy access to Tarifa or Gibraltar.

The shower didn’t have any water pressure and it was impossible to regulate dribble of water. It would fluctuate from cold to scorching hot in seconds. Not a good thing.

Beautiful facility and the restaurant staff were delightful.

It was a 4 star hotel for an excellent price

Double bed was actually 2 twin beds pushed together. Did not expect that from 4* hotel... :( Loud renovation works were done during the stay, but during booking no information about that was provided.

Breakfast was OK. Near the building is a lot of space to have a little walk in the premise. Good bar.

I don't know why our arrival caused dissatisfaction among the ladies at the reception. The rest of the staff was lovely, so it stuck in our memory even more.

Despite its age and distinguished past, the hotel tries to maintain a good level of services.

The breakfast wasn’t great.

The hotel was amazing and the rooms were huge and very comfortable. Staff were very efficient at check in Loved the bath - the water was hot too. Grounds are lovely.

Receptionist a bit grumpy - a shame as the other staff were lovely. I had stayed before so it didn't bother me but someone coming for the first time might be put off - they are supposed to welcome you after all. The corridors need a refurb.

The setting of the hotel - peaceful, quiet , lots of greenery. It's an historic hotel.

Nothing to dislike.

Beautiful hotel within easy reach of train station and ferry port for crossing to Morocco. Spotlessly clean, luxurious surroundings, generous hot and cold buffet breakfast. Log fire burning in the entrance was welcoming as was the staff. Having a lift was a bonus with luggage and some limited mobility. Was only staying overnight this time, so no opportunity to explore the grounds or pool unfortunately - next time...

The wifi is not good if you have a meeting or you want to upload a file the debit is very slow. when i test it i found just 2MB per second.

The room is spacious and there's everything in it, also I like the separation between the toilet and the bath. There's i nice view from the balcony we can see the port of Algeciras.

We did not like the (third party) attempt to cheat us with SPAM mails in the name of the hotel. On top, these fake messages were comunicated to us VIA BOOKING!!! Worst of all, we still miss BOOKINGs reaction to our questions (in writing) about the issue.
