Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

It is a large place with lots of facilities, which we were not expecting considering the price.

VenezuelaThe hostel is located in a mountain a bit away from airport. I think a plus could be add a transportation service affordable to the airport or bus station at least. I paid 50 euros from the hostel to the airport Saturday 4 am because there is not Metro service at that time.
I like that they support people with disability

IndonesiaThe door is squeaky. Can you imagine with 10 people stay in the same room but has different timd schedule and need to get out earlier or going back late , kinda annoying and too loud.
The bed is comfy , the staff are friendly and the location looks beautiful and quite peaceful. I even saw wild boar one night. The price for the restaurant also really affordable.

MoroccoThe access to the hostel on foot from the train station is a bit difficult due to the hills, especially at night. So, it will be easier with a car. That's the only issue I encountered.
I appreciated the generosity of the hostel staff, as well as its location situated in a forest, just 20 minutes from the center of Barcelona.

The hostel has been furnished in a very unique way, it's like a big collage art box. Staff was not the kindest but not the meanest either, just neutral.

PolandGreat team, well managed. They do their job very well. It's nice, pleasant, clean, economical. Good available breakfasts in good price. Healthy park environment. The advantage is the wooden beds - they are more stable and quieter than in other facilities (steel). Wooden ones are more comfortable and give more privacy. There is a new vending machine where you can leave your things for up to 5 hours while you wait for your return, beautiful new flowers. By helping these young people here, you are also helping yourself. Remember this is not a hotel.

BulgariaThere is a common kitchen that is quite basic and unequipped and the only place to eat (in winter) is in the restaurant, for the obvious displeasure of the staff
The property is quite far from the center of Barcelona, but the train is close and fast. We arrived a few hours before the official check-in, hoping to leave our baggage, but they let us directly in the room.

MalawiWould have been nice if they allowed people to write in the system all the meals they consume and then pay at the end- it was a bit of a hassle & inconvenient to have to pay every single meal, especially for people staying longer stays (I stayed 6 nights).
Place was clean, good location outside of Barcelona, but just 20 min. by metro, staff was super nice & helpful, meals provided were not bad.

United StatesThe location is what it is. Think of it as a respite from the touristy city or a stay among genuine Nature. Either way, they are not about to bring the mountain to you⛰️🏕 Also, the bunk beds are very comfortable; the free WiFi strong; the little bar, decent; the showers, hot.

United States1. I've stayed here several times in the past and the clientele has definitely become more (Central-/ South American) immigrants than revolving backpackers or "travelers". 2. Termination of included breakfast and social recreation room. 3. The communal kitchen is woefully inadequate (see 1) 4. Restaurant prices are not very backpacker-friendly, especially for guests being high up in the mountains.
Good shower pressure + hot water. Good rates + strong WiFi! Comfortable beds and blankets w/private reading lamps + sockets.

CanadaThere is quite a steep climb to get to the hostel by foot, to keep in mind for people with physical issues, age, and those who've had a lot to drink. Staffs are nice and understanding but have limited English skills. It is in the middle of nowhere so plan accordingly, you'll need to go downtown if you want to buy anything as there are very little shops around.
The facility is in the middle of nature, which makes it great to hang out outside to chat with friends or relax with a book if you like peaceful environments. There is a subway station about 5 minutes away from the hostel which can take you to downtown in roughly 15 minutes. The rooms were very large and not crowed at all, one of the most spacious hostel I've been to. Quality/Price is excellent for what you get.

UkraineYou have to be ready that the place is a bit tired. In hostel rooms doors, beds, and lockers are very noisy and shaky. Upper beds are open, so no privacy at all. The pool was closed. Poor planning of showers and clogged drains. But again - what would you expect for the money you pay?
Location - if you plan to relax and have day-long hikes in the forest, it is a great place Great value for money: very affordable. So any time you want to complain about something - remind yourself about the price, you paid. Mission and staff - very inspiring
