Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IsraelThe location is amazing, it is located inside a castle complex on top of a mountain with castle ruins all around, great for people who are into that. The staff is very helpful and nice.

United KingdomOur wash basin was small and there wasn't much space to put toiletries. The water came out in a dribble and it only got hot in the morning.
A very interesting place to stay, fantastic location and lovely hosts. We had a very nice room with a sunny patio. The food was good with some local dishes. Definitely a place to visit.

United KingdomNothing really. Just be warned that if you rely on wifi or phone signal, then maybe take a miss. You are remote, which was all the better for us.
The remoteness of the property and the unique setting in which it sits, is a real experience. There were many things to like about the stay. The owner was fantastic, hospitable and welcoming and really works hard to make your stay as good as it can be. The renovated church in which you stay is full of history and charm and the surrounding ruins of the fort and village allows you to explore.

SpainThere was nothing not to like. The WiFi was slow and unpredictable, but I didn't go there for the internet. Breakfast was ample and tasty, but consisted predominantly of toast which is not my first preference; however, they did have a glutenfree option for my gluten intolerant daughter, so I liked that.
The location was fabulous - the melancholy romance of an abandoned village, the beauty of its majestic ruins, the lack of light pollution that enabled us to see stars in the night sky, the silence, the immense views.

United KingdomSignpost on way up needs to be a straight arrow not the odd squiggle pointing around and if only one or two other languages on the ruins... ah well. Almost perfect
Extraordinary Casa Rural and the most amazing views across the tierra. The CR was almost perfect. Our host not only diligent but knowledgable and spoke very good english although we preferred to practice our Spanish! We had a filling tapas and there is no provision for a 'restaurant' on B.com. The food was excellent. On our departure we were offered fresh marrow from the garden. The history of this Castillo us fascinating. Almost 10 for us - v unexpected v welcome and very very unusual. Thankyou 🙂

SpainThe only thing i found a problem with was the WiFi in my room did not work and had to sit in the communal room for a connection.
The actual location is absolutely amazing. With 360 degrees the views are breathtaking stunning. It was very peaceful and quiet. The clear night skys alone are worth the visit. The 12th century village remains the hotel is situated in are a wonder to stroll around.

United KingdomExceptional location with a lot of charm and history. Possibility to watch and learn about the stars. Attentive staff, beautiful facilities and well-done basic food (we had tapas). It was lovely to sit outside and have the beautiful views of the surroundings. The way up to the hotel is curvy and rough, but it is part of the adventure and the charm. Definitely a place to come back and highly recommended.

It was our second stay here, and just as perfect as before. We loved the evening visit to the old church within the castle walls, and the opportunity to ring the bell. The hotel proprietor is a very knowledgable historian, and speaks excellent English. A most unique experience, highly recommended.

SpainThe Castle, the stars, the surroundings, the silence, the staff, the service; it is simply magical. This was my third stay here and the place never ceases to amaze me. If you're looking to go to a beautiful place for some quiet time this is the place to go. Ask for a tour around the site beforehand as it really enhances the experience. Highly recommend!

United StatesA unique experience staying in the ruins of a castle fort. The rooms are basic and clean. The ruins of the castle are incredible as are the views. Spend the day exploring the ruins, watch the sun go down in the evening and in the morning watch the sun rise from this scenic spot. Breakfast is good and dinner service is provided at an additional cost. In the evenings local people come to the castle for drinks and socializing. Historical guided tours of the grounds only happen for two months in the summer. Check ahead of time if they are available if this is something you would want to do.

United KingdomFood, hot water, not enough staff running the hotel.
The dust road up to hotel was quite scary as very narrow and very steep. There was no hot water, food was ok, not great. The man and waiter running the hotel were very friendly, very interesting and night sky was amazing.
