Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PortugalThe bunk bed had very little head space
The hostel had all amenities. I was lucky to stay in a 3 bed dorm so it was quite nice, very well illuminated with a plenty of natural light. They provided towels, locker. They had fully equipped kitchen, and a washing machine. The terrace is great too. Loved the location, 5 from beach.

BelgiumThe hostel is very noisy, even if you're not sharing a room. I was hearing every traffic noise from the street. You will need ear plugs.
La Moraga hostel is located a few kilometers from Malaga center, not very recommended if you really want to enjoy Malaga center. But the area of the hostel and beaches around are quieter and may be nicer with plenty of bars and restaurants around. Johnny is the main reason you need to stay at La Moraga, he will help you deal with any situation you might live not only in the hostel but also in Malaga. The hostel is clean and confortable. I had a very nice stay there.

GermanyIt's nothing bad, but you have to know that the hostel is located a bit far off the city centre, which is why you have to take the bus using the bus lines 3, 8 or 11 for about 15-25 minutes, depending on where in the centre you want to go. Travel tip: every bus ride costs 1.40€, they accept card payment. There is room for improvement in terms of activities offered by the hostel, e.g. city walking tours to get to know the area and other hostel guests a bit more or cooking tacos or other big meals together. Also I would suggest the hostel to put up a board with information about free activities in the area, e.g. the Alcazaba is free on Sundays after 2pm. All in all the hostel has great potential!
The hostel La Moraga de Poniente is pretty cool. I've felt very welcomed and safe there through my whole stay, which is great coming from a female solo traveller. The beds are comfortable and you're able to have a bit of privacy due to the curtains. The staff is amazing, especially the hostel manager Jonny, with whom you can have very great and wise conversations. Moreover, the hostel is pretty clean with a good kitchen, which has everything you need. It's a great place to socialize with like-minded people. The location in the Pedregalejo / El Palo neighborhood is pretty nice, because those are the more local neighborhoods of Málaga. Near to the hostel you can easily find a Mercadona and lots of other shops and bakeries to buy food and daily groceries. Also, the beach is pretty close to the hostel, you just have to go down the street, perfect for watching the sunset every evening. Furthermore the hostel offers a bike rental service.

Costa RicaIt's very far away from the center. It can feel more like a house than a hostel, the room I was put on had a double bed and a bunk bed, the bunk bed didn't have any curtains like the big shared room does, but it was ok since I was a alone most of the stay. The manager lives on site, so he's always there, which can be good and annoying haha.
It's very close to the beach and a Mercadona. The terrace is nice too. WiFi works well. By pure chance I had the whole room to myself all week until the weekend.

GermanyLovely, well equipped hostel with friendly staff in a great location. It wasn't particularly fancy but very clean and cozy, the room was bright and comfortable (couldn't hear any traffic with ear plugs). The location was wonderful - right at the coast, lively but quiet, very easy to get anywhere by bus.

AustraliaI had a look at the beach and didn't like it.
I had trouble at the bus station getting a ticket for the next leg and this took time so was bit later than I had given as the time of arrival. I have no internet on my mobile by choice so had no info how to get the key to get into the hostel. I knocked on the door and the manager who lives in the hostel opened the door. I never print my confirmation, I just make a note of the number and this so far after +/- 15 bookings was never a problem. Lucky the manager has a can do attitude and sorted all out.

United KingdomCramped loos, & some broken fixtures in the shower stalls. Slightly dodgy lock on my door - it popped open despite being locked on one occasion.
Great location. Not the city centre, a local barrio malagueño right by the beach but right on the bus route into town. Comfy beds. Good value.

ItalyThe labeling of the food can be improved.
It is well located, the area is residential and quiet. The beach is just a couples of blocks away! - gorgeous and peaceful! You can see it from the terrace! The bus stops are just around the corner. It’s less than 15 minutes away from the city center. There is a Mercadona less than two blocks away, as well as other places for your everyday needs. The room with curtains is super comfortable, and even with the street next to it, you can sleep very well. The staff is really nice, always kind and helpful. You can do your laundry as well as cook in the kitchen.

LithuaniaThe bathroom and shower facilities could really use some touch up. At some point the toilet paper had finished. The air-con is old and the remote control is dirty.
The room was decent and cosy. The staff was nice. It's cool that it's so near the sea. And I loved a simple cafe Semolina Negra next to the hostel. I liked that the female bathroom was right in front of my room.
