Room was so small I couldn’t open my suitcase case. Bathroom had strong smell of mildew (room 010).

Restaurant menu limited and in Catalan rather than Spanish or English Room lacked storage surface space, no luggage storage Waiter one evening couldnt speak any Spanish and had poor English No coffee making facilities in room

It's a really old building with very poor sound proofing so it was noisy. Everything else was great including the beautiful building and my own little garden.

Location was perfect, near the underground and the old town and most of the sights.

The noise from the water tubing system and from other rooms can be quite disturbing, especially at night. The hotel also needs a little bit of renovation.

The hotel is within walking distance to every sight of intrest, the staff is extremelly helpful and outgoing. The rooms are clean, the bed very comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Although not abundant with choice to my opinion it had just enough of everything. We were pleasantly surprised on check in that the menagement decided to move us to a bigger suite than the one we paid for and really made our stay at the hotel Market even better.

Reception staff didn't know how to smile, but I've got used to that in Barcelona. The room was super hot and had to sleep with the window open but was noisy outside, so I didn't have the best of sleep. Apart from that was an average place.

Price was good for Central Barcelona, its close to the main train station. Room and shower were OK.

Soundproofing is a big issue here, can hear everything from the hallway and other rooms - had to buy earplugs for my stay yo get some sleep - hotel could provide these. Tea/coffee facilities in the room would be a nice touch.

Good location right beside the market and a quick and easy walk up la Rambla. Spacious room and balcony.

Bad advice from concierge on a museum. Also did not like that the owner was working from the bar area with paperwork, computers, meetings, and speaking on phone. inappropriate and made us feel. uneasy

I have stayed there many times. We got the cheap single rooms. Basic but good. Blinds all ripped. Nothing in the bathroom (tissues, shower cap etc). no fridge. Was good for the money but looks tired and needs a refurb. Bar has weird warped dangerous floorboards. Obviously a flood at some stage. Very strange they have not fixed it - and a real trip hazard

The bed was bit too small. Also, the walls were very thin and we could hear everything - people passing through on the corridor, next rooms laughing or showering which didn’t allow us to sleep

The hotel itself is beautiful and in a good location. Overall decor and the design is very nice. The place was clean and calming

The hotel is decent and I was happy as price was good and I wanted to stay in that area in this visit. I like they have a bar downstairs although one night they closed for works and the other I was late and I couldn’t enjoy too long.

My room was very dark like it had two windows but they were somehow blacked out kind of. I felt like I was in a box. It was super hot too even though I travelled in February. But the most annoying thing was the humming sound. There was this sound that sounded like a fridge humming but there was no fridge in the room. I searched for the sound multiple times in the hopes of turning it off but couldn't locate it. So I didn't sleep very well... Also, when I turned the lights off to sleep, suddenly there was this flashlight-y blinking. After some searching I understood it came from the nightstand lamp. So I unplugged it. Maybe an electrical issue? Because why is it doing that when turned off? I told the front desk and the guy said their electrician would look into it, so hopefully it's fixed now.

The breakfast was really good and fresh! The design of the hotel is nice too.

The rooms were v cosy and being an old building the bathroom had no air vent to take out the moisture from the shower. Some guests were complaining about the noise and a lack of sleep but that wasn’t a major problem for us.

The room was comfortable but could do with a redecoration/ coat of paint. A bit dusty, especially around the bedside tables and under the bed. The owner should invest money into redecorating or modernising the bedrooms.

Fantastic location, central and close to many different transport links including airbus 4 mins away. Restaurant was great in the evening. Nice price and large portions, with a vibrant atmosphere. Great value for money, cheap and cheerful if you just need a simple, central place to sleep.
