The air conditioning didn't cool the room off very well but it was 39 out and maybe it couldn't keep up. The public parking was a little strange to get to.

Breakfast was very good, coffee excellent. Location of hotel was so central and within easy walking distance of all sights. There were lots of restaurants nearby. We especially liked the mall above the parking structure with many food kiosks.

I was too tall for the shower (I'm not that tall ... 185cm). The air-con didn't seem to work, but that may have been me.

The property was in an exceptional location with lots of nice bars and restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly and the room was spacious and comfortable.

Because of location and nightlife, rooms sometimes used as couples drop in facility. On Friday night my room neighbours came in and out of the room multiple times throughout the night so you cant help but be disturbed.

Perfect location in the centre of the city. My room was at the back so no street noise problems.

    The area...

It is a pleasant area to book a hotel, however, hotel Maza was not the perfect choice for me. The room was too little, not even enough place to manage myself or my luggages. I’m recommending other hotel near by.

No cross ventilation. AC did nothing to cool the room. Had to open windows wide and didn’t cool off until 2am. Some street noise until 2 am

Right on a major Plaza close to streetcar and Plaza Pilar. Decent breakfast.

They reuse, electronic access cards, which are labeled with the room number, rather than programming a card for the duration of the stay. This is OK, but more modern security norms involve cards that expire with the stay. As a reused card, it was already a bit bent, and it is no surprise, because you must insert it in a slot in the room to have any light. The slot has a faint identification led but no courtesy light to aid with the insertion. Therefore, the process was "by feel" rather than by sight. In addition, an inserted key card is needed for ALL electrical use in the room. This means that you cannot leave a device whose battery is low,"charging" in the room while you go out. There are many hotels that are the same, but better hotels provide a marked outlet that is always powered on even without an access card. (and some excellent hotels even equip the room safe with an interior electrical outlet!) Speaking of safes... this hotel provided no in-room safe. I am sure you could leave valuables at the front desk, but the fast-growing trend is for room safes even in budget hotels. The shower was of modest but usable size. However the hotel has not installed any sort of shelf or support to use for the little bottles of shampoo/gel. This means that unless you are a skilled juggler, you must set these on the floor and go through the gyrations of stooping down to pick them up as needed. The edge of the floor where it met the wall had a strange, poorly installed molding, with big gaps, and there was a dark grey area of the floor at two ends. I don't know if it was mold or badly discolored caulking. I stayed two nights, and the cleaning staff removed my used towel (not thrown on the floor) after the first night, without replacing it. The price for this hotel was low, but I probably should have paid about 5 Euros more for a better facility.

The hotel was decent basic lodging. Quiet with a clean room. The location is excellent, right on the Plaza de Espana with easy access to the Tranvia (Street car). Close to restaurants and major sights.

The parking was an issue. The parking is 2 blocks away, despite the stamp from the Hotel de parking attendant refused to apply any discount. He was terribly rude, maybe not staff of the Hotel. We were in a rush and hard once we walked with the luggage to go back to the Hotel and complain.

Excellent location, very friendly staff, large bathroom, very well equiped, hair dryer.

Not the best place to be....

If you want a friendly place to stay, with emphatic Staff, nice room and comfortable as possible you should not chose this place. You don´t have any kind of sound filter in the walls... any... but trust me it's really ANY. Even with people speaking quietly at the room near by (side, top and bellow) you can ear their whispers.. so no chance to have a quiet night. Sex is also something that you can ear P E R F E C T L Y!. and I am a professional travel, so I know the difference of screaming, soft, or no sound barriers, it may also be a positive trip if you follow this objective :) The staff is rude, impolite, impossible to have a buenos dias before "Room Number!!!!" , questions like is everything ok, did you like it, can I help, is all ok... forget it... you will not have them... Smiles cost extra so don't expect a nice welcome smile or even a normal day peer day courtesy. Towels will also take longer to change, and it is ONE kit (shower plus face) peer person, so even if they are small.. well bad luck to you, don´t wait for comfort or extra kind. So, money... cheap place for money stay... but no more than that.

It's hard to find something to like, so maybe the place of the hotel in the center of the city can be a relevant point. More that that it will be hard to mention.
