Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The door locked automatically, but I would have liked if the door had an additional manual lock too. To have had a kettle in the room.
My room was super cosy and perfect size for one. I liked how my room was tucked away on a corner. I had read that the noise was really bad here at night, wasn’t the case for me - odd bit of chatter and doors slamming around 11ish but nothing out of the ordinary. The location is perfect, train and metro just under 5 min walk. Hotel staff really nice. Really fast internet in the room.

All was excellent.
Excellent location, just 5 minutes from Atocha Train Station. Two minutes to Botanical Garden, 5 minutes to Retiro. Everything is near. Very comfortable and spacious room and bathroom. Enough elevators to not lose time waiting. I liked the design of the rooms, cozy and practical, and atmosphere of the lobby. Just like from the beginning of the 20th century. Not like many modern hotels that lack some personality.

The hotel is located near the museum district and train station. I liked the metro station located right at the hotel corner. There are many places to eat and experience the Madrid nightlife. Finally, the hotel is spotless, simple, and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is an excellent value.

Hotel opposite the main Atocha train station and 50 m from the Station de Arte Metro. Could not have been more handy to explore the old town. We didn't have the buffet breakfast, but the hotel had a cafe attached, which was excellent. Our room overlooked the plaza entrance to Centro De Arte Reina Sofia. The plaza was pumping with the cafe crowd and kids playing.

Lacked some charm but not important to us.
Location! Right in front of the Rena Sophia, and right across from the Atocha train station - excellent location. We picked the hotel as we were doing a number of daytrips via train, and was easy walk over to the train. Cab stand right outside the hotel as well. Could not really hear street noise (ask for a room facing the back at the square the Rena Sophia is on). Clean spacious room with good shower water pressure. Helpful staff. Breakfast buffet (but no variety) for 12e. excellent stay.

Slippers, toothbrush and toothpaste were not provided to the guests
I stayed with my wife at hotel Mediodia from 23rd to 25th February,2024. It was very close to main train station Madrid. I traveled from Barcelona to Madrid by fast train but the Hotel was visible right from the station exit and it perhaps took less than 10mins to arrive at the hotel. The location is excellent near Arte Metro station very close to the hotel. There were so many restaurants to select next to the hotel including a souvenir shop very close.. The staff at the reception were very helpful and at our request it booked two tickets for us over phone for FLAMENCO SHOW. Our breakfast was not included. Leaving this negative points , it's an excellent hotel and I recommend it to everyone who visits Madrid.

Soundproofing is minimal - could hear every word of my neighbours' conversations, alarms going off, hair dryers etc.
Everything went well: the hotel is clean, staff are pleasant and the location is superb (especially if arriving by train). The price for a decent, basic hotel in the centre of Madrid represents excellent value for money.
