Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JerseyThe pool was closed due to access through a private function, very disappointing on a hot day. We had chosen the hotel for the pool as we were arriving on bikes.
Beautiful clean spacious room in a fantastic building. Would have rated this hotel with a 10 if we could have used the pool.

United KingdomParking in the courtyard was very difficult as access is extremely tight. We thought that the €30 charge per night for dogs on top of the €140 night room rate and €18 night parking was high. We typically pay no more than €10-15 night for a dog
Really lovely hotel in a great location in the centre of the old town area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms very modern clean and comfortable. Good dog friendly facilities. Bar was nice. Pool was nice

IrelandThe only thing that I was a little disappointed with was the pool wasn’t ready to be open yet & we weren’t informed until we got to the hotel. It didn’t take away from the experience although it might have been useful for ourselves. Apart from that cannot fault it.
Everything about this place is wonderful! This was pour second stay at the Palacio Carvajal Girón. From the rooms to the service, the rooms are spotless & are cleaned daily with fresh sheets & water bottles provided by the hotel. The food at the hotel is also very good with a great selection of breakfast if you’re looking to have food before starting the morning. Service couldn’t be better they go above and beyond to help out with any questions. Location is perfect right beside the town square with many restaurants & bars. I look forward to our next stay back at this hotel.

United KingdomRoom 215 that we stayed in beware if you're over 6ft tall the top of the step ceiling is low I cracked my head upon entry and had to duck after that. Access by vehicle is via a no access pedestrian street potential to be ticketed by the Police they were hunting while we were there. sat nav link on directions takes you to the wrong side of the hotel. Car park very limited availability and expensive ditto the best secure parking in town 17€ a night. Bar and service staff At breakfast a tad grumpy.
Large room comfy bed. Beautiful setting and great breakfast. Reception staff lovely two level suite lovely but beware see negatives. Cleaning staff lovely

United KingdomParking is tricky. Roads tight and few spaces in car park so we parked outside the walls and walked up to hotel, about 500m but a fair climb. Other than that, absolutely nothing .
Right in heart of old town a short walk from the main square. Beautiful little hotel, very calm atmosphere and attentive staff, remembered if was my husbands birthday and left a bottle of wine in the room on the exact day. So kind. Hired bikes , excellent route off road through beautiful countryside and along river.

United KingdomIf you end up driving though the old town by mistake, to drop off bags or to park at the hotel it’s important to remember to give them your registration number so you don’t get a fine. I parked in their recommended secure public carpark after a bit of a struggle navigating the old and very tight streets.
Excellent Location for exploring the old town and the local area. Rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious. Huge bathroom in the junior suite with a double shower and a huge bath that could accommodate at least 6 people. We enjoyed the restaurant too. Helpful and amusing waiter coupled with fine food was really an experience. Breakfast was fine and you could get freshly cooked eggs to order with bacon if desired. Refreshments were on offer in reception which was nice. Free water was provided in the mini bar every day.

United KingdomYou need to reserve space for the car park, and it is a bit challenging to get there on a narrow road and entrance. No kettle in the room; it was cold (December). Sometimes, the café at the hotel can get crowded, and there are no available seats if you miss the right time.
This charming hotel has a spacious room facing a square (not noisy). The hotel is close to all the sights and restaurants. The staff was very nice.
