Photos show balcony hotels as what we are expecting to stay, unfortunately no nature view that you can see on the 5th rooms. Internet access is so poor in the room makes difficult for any particular meeting or business stay.

The hotel has excellent nature view, clean bathroom, big parking area and big room for standard size. It is also easy to access.

Absolutely stunning location, lovely Parador, views from the terrace are stunning, beautiful place to sit and take in the scenery with a drink. Traditional rooms and decor. Restaurant serves traditional regaional food which is delicious. Breakfasts buffet style with all cooked options, fruits, breads, cold meats, cheeses etc everything you could want. Would highly recommend.

One of the best paradors in Spain as far as location goes ...
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Standard Twin Room with Balcony (2 Adults + 1 Child)
    • Stayed 1 night

Seeing that this place is all about views, the rooms that don't face the lake, but rather look out over the car park, are a poor second best. And odd to have such poor internet coverage - at time it just doesn't work. Surely this could be easily sorted?

One of the most beautifully located paradors in Spain with incredible views from the lake-facing rooms. Don't miss driving down to the lake and hiking along the path that runs along its southern side - a beautiful, leafy there-and-back ramble. The hike up the valley south of the lake is also really beautiful and chances are you'll have the trail all to yourself.

    Nothing much

It is a little while since it has been done up and I think that is reflected in their 3 star rating. But it had all we wanted and a very good meal in the restauarant and interesting local red. It was on the route to our destination in Asturias and we would use it again.

It's an old building but feel it could do with a bit more tlc, wooden floor boats that creaked every time you walked in the rooms & drove you nuts with others walking in rooms above you, generally seems to be a hotel for the more mature guest I would suggest

Fire all the staff and get in someone who can at least spell the words"customer service". Sad, because spectacular place, but paying 12 euros for a "local speciality" which turned out to be a pile of pork scratchings, with not even a lettuce leaf, was disgusting. Roast cockerel was actually overcooked beefy stew. Nice house wine though, but don't expect a smile or even service from the awful dragon behind the bar.

Fabulous position, wonderful views, execrable food, awful staff.

We have used a lot of Parrodores and undoubtedly you pay a premium for the privilege of staying in what are mostly historic buildings in fantastic locations. The staff were generally helpful but you cant help feeling they think they are doing you a favour to help and not the other way around as should be. This hotel has no Air Con which considering the cost is very poor with a faulty toilet cistern and shower head which I reported as broken but nothing was done about it.

This Parador is in a superb position; over 3000ft above sea level, surrounded by mountains and well away from any major roads. As a result, when we looked out from our balcony, we had a lovely view over a lake and deciduous woodland; the only sound we could hear, apart from the breeze, was birdsong, including two cuckoos competing with one another. Shortly after that, we were treated to a close fly-past by a Golden Eagle! Both breakfast & dinner were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. We certainly plan to return - and stay longer, in order to enjoy the tranquility an explore more of this scenic area.

There are lovely mountain views and walks from the hotel with lovely clean air and fresh smells, the local reservoir is a good easy walk and a larger reservoir st Acampoo is another good place to visit there you will also find a monastery and a castle - well worth a visit

The bathroom, it was very tired. It needed a good refurbishment, the shower was an over bath one which would have been OK but the bath was very worn, the enamel was very rough. The tiles needed replacing or at least re-grouting. We ran a bath and the water was rust coloured and even smelt of rust.

We booked a superior room which was fantastic, excellent value for the small increase in the bill.

    Nothing, 10/10.

The stunning location and the views. Obviously a 'winter retreat', how beautiful it must be. Breath in the fresh air!!

Shabby exterior, unimaginative grounds. Interior austere & 'tired'-in need of refurbishment. Poor sound insulation in bedrooms. Indifferent, unwelcoming staff. No atmosphere.

Staff lovely and enjoyed playing pool. Good walks nearby although it was a shame not to have footpaths through the woods directly to the hotel.

The hotel is beautifully situated in Los Picos de Europa. The view from the back of the hotel and bar/verandah is stunning. The hotel is a little 'tired' looking in some ways but that takes nothing away from its charm. There are some beautiful walks/hikes in the surrounding mountains.

Some noise from other rooms above but not unacceptable. Restaurant doesn't open until 8.30pm.

Location and scenery. Attentive and helpful staff. Large comfortable room with excellent views from the balcony even on the car park side! Good food and excellent breakfast although a long stay may well test the evening menu. Terrace overlooking the reservoir was a great place for a cold beer or two. A problem with the shower in my room was attended to by the time I returned in the afternoon. Stayed for two nights; could have been more.

we were given a room with a broken toilet; the grounds are unkempt; no umbrellas on the terrace (hot sunny day); too few staff - overall its just run down

size of room; parking on site; friendliness of bar staff; remote and peaceful location - but by far the poorest Parador I've ever stayed in.

Large bedroom with balcony overlooking the lake and mountains. Very good parking. Enjoyable dinner and breakfast. Hotel staff friendly and efficient. Only stayed one night as we were enroute to Santander Ferry, but would love to return and discover the countryside.
