They need to get rid of the staff member who is grumpy and unhelpful most of the time. He needs to remember that he is there to assist clients, not be obstructive and devisive.

Went out to dinner and returned at midnight in car only to find gates locked and no way to contact reception from gate. hooting didn't work either. In the end had to call the hotel on the phone and ask them to let me in , whereupon receptionst said i saw you at the gate!!!!!

Nice standard of hotel close to motorway exit.

The view from our room was stunning overlooking the river Guardiana across to Portugal. The beds are very hard . Staff need lessons in hospitality !! We were greeted by a man on the reception desk who was very abrupt and not welcoming at all . Then it got even worse at the bar with the waiter ignoring my request when I asked for an ice bucket and went on to serve a large family of Spanish people and just telling me to wait . Nice hotel but get some training in basic manners!!

The bar shuts down at 11pm which seems a little early for the hotel's category and the fact it is Spain after all! Also at other times the place seems a little deserted. The superior room was a little stark and cold on arrival. At night we both were coughing which seemed to have something to do with the heating as neither of us were unwell at the time.

Struggling to find anything at all we didn't like .... Maybe if customers really, really, fussy they may say bed too hard - ok for us though & spare pillows and bedding in the wardrobe

A typical lovely Spanish hotel. Beautiful views, location, interior design just lovely. Ok the staff speak limited English but we got everything we asked for with a smile - try a little bit of Spanish even if its just Hola (ola} - The menus are in Spanish & English. The food in the informal dining area is lovely try the Jamon ( iberico ham )

My room was a bit dusty on arrival and a few hairs around the place!

Perched on the hill overlooking the town, the marshes and the impressive bridge leading to Portugal this is a charming, airy and luminous hotel with great facilities and staff. It's a relatively easy walk down to the town and the ferry terminal to Portugal - but quite an uphill schlep back (and I failed to see a single taxi). Excellent breakfast and pleasant bar service throughout the day.

Booked upgraded room but it was not particularly special. Room overlooked the pool. You need to ask for room facing the ocean not the river. Bit miffed as hotel was almost empty and plenty were available. It is a fair walk down into Ayamonte centre and an even harder one up the hill on the way back.

Hard to fault anything, definitely worth the money, onlg thing might be that breajfast is excluded from the price and is €16 Per person per day- worth it though

Despite the pictures on the website making the hotel look dated, it's just the reception that is dated and some work has been done since the pictures were taken (no white fence around the pool)

Would have liked a bath mat for shower and floor.

The room and bathroom was very big. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had bath with shower and there was a bidet. Lots of places to sit and read a book. All lounges and eating places over looked the bridge between Spain and Portugal. Ayamonte has squares to sit and people watch. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choices, but was dear. Very big towels.

We went in mid April so early in the season - n spite of the beautiful Full swimming pool outside our bedroom it was not in use. As keen swimmers we were gutted not to be able to swim. This was not mentioned in the information about the Parador. Also the dining room was closed except for breakfast. You could eat dinner but it was served in the bar and was anyway expensive, so we walked into Ayamonte - Plenty of places to eat there.

The bathroom needs updating and is grim, clean yes, but the grouting is black around the bath and shower with broken tiles. Quite frankly that bathroom is not worthy of a 3 star hotel and we have had much better in Spain over the years, for half that price. I told reception we would not pay 90€ again to have such a poor bathroom. The room desperately is in need of a total re-furbishment.

The position of the hotel and views, and car parking. The public areas are excellent. We did not eat there as after many Parador stays we feel the breakfast price is much too expensive!

The bedrooms seemed a little tired and the baths and showers were not up to standard. It would have been a bonus to have tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. There were only two staff on duty for the bar and restaurant and they looked very stressed to the point that the waitress was sullen and rude. However, the breakfast and reception staff were very helpful.
