The quality of breakfast food is not very good : industrial pastries still in plastic containers. Cold cuts average quality. Fruits not ripe.

Wonderful historical building ! What a treat ! Great location, very convenient to walk around the old town and see all the major monuments. Very spacious rooms, comfortable and clean.

We had hoped for a garden room but building work was underway: we saw these rooms that seemed ideal. Instead, we were given one of the grander rooms overlooking the plaza. Parking is a short distance away in an open public car park.

The Parador de Ubeda, also known as the Parador Condestable Davalos, is in the main plaza of the historic centre of Ubeda. It is a classic Andalusian palace built around a large internal courtyard. The large rooms are furnished in a style contemporary with its origins. The bathroom was in a classic style and functioned well. The Parador is in a restricted area but car access is allowed for unloading/loading. The staff are most helpful. The restaurant and bar menus reflect the Parador chain.

Would prefer more local and quieter music played in courtyard so we swapped tables for one away from speaker. I’m probably just too fussy.

Beautiful building with lovely reception areas. The room was tastefully decorated. Walk around the town in early morning to soak up the stunning historic buildings that are around every corner.

VERY uncomfortable beds. Not enough lighting in the room. Décor all a bit tired. Tired of eating as late as the Spanish dine, we ordered Room Service, thinking it pleasant to eat earlier & in our garden room. This seemed to be a big surprise to the hotel & involved consultation with the kitchen, as we had found at our previous Parador stay in Jaen. Breakfast was adequate but not worth the cost & very poor service. Our car had to be parked a couple of streets away, & it was difficult getting our luggage up the many steps of the hotel entrance. Similarly when we left, although then there was the advantage of gravity! We have been very disappointed with the Paradors here & at Jaen - our only experiences of the group. For the rating & for the tariff we expected more comfort, better service, tea/coffee making facilities in the room, maybe bathrobes, slippers, iron, & although we didn't want to watch them, more television channels. Although we were in a Catholic country we were a bit surprised at having to sleep under a very large religious painting.

Beautiful building in excellent location. We paid for a garden room which was charming & spacious. Good linen & towels. Large bathroom.

A kettle in the room would have been useful.

A comfortable spacious room in this historic building. Walking distance from all main attractions and restaurants. We had a nice quiet room overlooking a courtyard garden. Take the tourist train, which starts just across from the Parador. A few euros well spent to help you get your bearings. Free parking close by. Dinner was good and reasonable prices.

Due to location in pedestrianized old town, it’s not easy to approach. But they offer a map of the route. Can park for five minutes only to drop off luggage. Street parking about 8 minute walk away. (could be tricky at popular mealtimes; once the locals leave it’s not too bad to find a space). Big problem wi th pigeons. Couldn’t leave windows open for long, or overnight.

Beautiful building smack in the heart of UNESCO World Heritage location. Charming, comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Interior patio/courtyard was delightful for sitting, drinking or dining. Big bed room w views of adjacent church.

The patio is cold with little atmosphere : plants are missing and there should be a double door to the square so that the cold and wind does not enter directly; the lounge furniture should be put in the patio and the bar made in the lounge area.

The bed not that comfortable. The breakfast was poor as the solo staff member not attentive, the milk was off and the range of food limited. We were told that we could order cooked eggs and only found that on leaving as there was a card in Spanish on the table!

The reception staff were super. The place was exceptionally clean. The location in the heart of the historic city was wonderful. The free parking 100 metres from the property was easy to find and very secure, with outstanding views. The restaurant for the evening meal was of a high standard and the staff so attentive.

Beautiful Historic Building in the Heart of Ubeda

This being a historic place with an older restoration, the noise from other rooms was readily heard. I could hear a guy coughing from a room two doors down. Some noise abatement would be nice. Also – and this is true for many Parador hotel bars – the bar, while in a great location and with oodles of atmosphere, was usually abandoned and made for a lonely place for a drink. Also, and again common to all Paradors, no option for just a cup of cafe con leche in the morning without having to splurge on the expensive (though very good) buffet breakfast. There's a place around the corner called El Torno de las Monjas that serves a great cafe and pan con tomate y aceite for a couple of euros.

Gorgeous historic building right in the heart of the quite-beautiful Ubeda Renaissance historic district. Rooms are large and well appointed with antique furniture. Beds are firm and comfy, and everything is spotless. Service is polite and professional
