Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe superior rooms had great mountain views but some rooms were right over the delivery area that we found sleep challenging in the morning…fortunately we were able to get our room moved. The restaurant menu, with great service, was the same for lunch and dinner with a relatively small selection of (tasty) entrees…if you are there for one or two nights it is fine but by the 4th day it got a bit repetitious for us. But don’t let either of these comments keep you from visiting this Parador because you would be cheating yourself out of a wonderful experience.
What a history rich and ambiance rich Parador…the superior room was spacious and comfortable…we weren’t in good enough shape to hike the loop trails to the river but we hiked two trails right outside the Parador door that offered fantastic views, wild flowers and historic remnants (e.g. an old mill, an intact chestnut roasting hut, a 6th century fortress)….the restaurant and cafeteria service and quality of the food were solid (the cafeteria provided the salad rich in greens that we had been craving)…the walk behind the parador was history rich and the perfect stroll after a hearty meal…We also enjoyed our day of checking out the area monasteries, churches and towns…No shortage of things to do!!

United KingdomWe had dinner in their restaurant and although most of the staff were lovely there was one (tall, dark haired man) we think he was the maitre/head waiter, that wasn’t too friendly and did spoil the visit to the restaurant a little bit. The food was ok but we were expecting more. Overall is was ok but it could have been better, that’s the problem

New ZealandThe booking through booking.com got messed up. Booked two rooms - 2 and 1 adults. Initial response from Booking.com was aligned to this but subsequently it became two rooms for 1 adult each room. However produced all the emails and booking.com app messages and sorted easily enough. Do continue to check the details of the booking with each and every message.
Fantastic monastery building steeped in history. Really sympathetic conversion into a parador. Our room was excellent, bed extremely comfortable, bathroom excellent. Evening meal on the terrace was superb. Breakfast was amazing.

United KingdomStrong smell of drains both near room and in key locations which also came through ventilation system. On inquiry hotelier suggested it was government lack of adequate sewerage facilities in the village with no apologies. But we didn’t expect this during our stay especially for a high end hotel.
Location fantastic. Room clean & comfortable. Breakfast exceptional. Evening meal delicious.

United KingdomNo bubble bath for the bath provided. The water kept switching between the bath and the shower. Breakfast seemed disorganised and it wasn't clear what we needed to do/what was going on.
Amazing room. Great location for walks and views. Lovely food in the restaurant- staff were happy to help and explain the vegetarian options at dinner. Great wine at dinner. The building is beautiful and worth walking around to explore its nooks and crannies.

PortugalThere is no bar. Only a rather uncomfortable cafeteria if you want to buy a drink. The hotel has undergone a fabulous recent refurbishment, so why wasn't a comfortable lounge bar included?

The staff in the restaurant went to great lengths to make my husband’s birthday meal very special. During our stay I booked a massage which was excellent, the therapist was kind and professional & I was left feeling very relaxed which was the desired outcome. We had an excellent stay thanks to the kind & courteous staff of the Parador Santo Estevo.

United KingdomOur room was a bit tiny so was the bed and we didn’t have hot drinks facilities. The garage was outside the building and you have to carry your own luggage for a long way. I think they could do with more staff.
The best was the location and the building. The food was excellent. The staff was very attentive.
